“How long will the fire take to craft? I feelthat we should act fairly soon, but if we can have fire available it would be worth waiting up t a day.”
“We will be waiting a few days for the dwarves to arrive, so as long as we keep a watch over the fortress’s entrance, I think it is time we can spend.”
Ghan had earlier suggested that Ninthel reenter the cave to overhear conversations among its inhabitants, but mainly to let us know about the pattern of patrols, and Thoroncir agreed that that would be useful information. As Ninthel is unfortunately not willing to return, and as Ghan is now not pressing the point, the Sea-knight captain endorses Ghan’s revised plan.
Ghan thanks the party and invites anyone who wants to make preparations (e.g. fire and acid flasks) to state their intentions now.
The party will set off as soon as the first dwarf contingent arrives (after briefing them and leaving just a couple behind to inform further dwarf reinforcements.)
The party will next ambush a patrol (to cut down numbers within the Fortress.)
N.B. The dwarves can let us know when they want to join in this attack.
Finally we and the dwarves will attack the fortress.
Away we go - death to Saruman!
“Yes, let us,” agrees Thoroncir wryly, “since it didn’t take the first time.”
Gwaelur will fully back any and all plans that break this seemingly endless spell that has made 2 minutes feel like amore than a month.
