I was just in the process of writing a reply to Baker’s email when our lovely postal lady came in with a largish box. Upon opening the delicately wrapped package, Miles started throwing foreign currency at me. He is dressed for the weather in gloves, scarf and the cutest Santa hat! He has already promised to beat down any mean customers I get in exchange for a banana daiquiri when we get home.
I’ve found a package of labels in the bottom of his bag, but one for Lombard, IL is set aside in an envelope…is that who gets him next?
The set aside address was one that slipped out of the previous wrapping when I almost had Miles all boxed up and ready to go. So it doesn’t get a higher priority, unless the Doper shoves lots of money or cookies at you as a bribe.
I got a bottle of Amaretto for Christmas, I’ll sip one for Miles safe arrival!
Don’t be sorry. I had a good time with the monkey, and was honored to be a part of his world tour. I just didn’t want to take a chance he’d be in the box on the holiday.
The next “major” holiday is Valentine’s Day, so he can go on first class, instead of Priority Mail.
About the item you mentioned in the email, I’ve sent a reply to that. I have NO idea how that got in there. Eeew.
How long is the list to get Miles? I’m starting to think I’m going to need to show him the 'Bash, but I’ll admit to being horribly impatient, so if there’s not a very good chance he’ll make it by May, I’ll let other Dopers have at him.

harmless, have a load of fun with him!!! Don’t forget to take lots of pictures and get him TRASHED on New Year’s!!! Also, I’d like to see him go to Australia, but I want to get ahold of that Doper before he’s mailed off. If we don’t get ahold of him before Miles is ready to ship, you can send him to any of those addresses.
But again, make sure that we make contact with whomever you send him to. I don’t want Miles suprising anyone. I’d rather people be waiting and expecting him…
If I remember correctly, from those address labels, there was an Australian address in there. But it appeared many of the labels had IRL names, so I don’t know who that Doper is/was, nor many of the others.
Bear, I wll be mailing you the pictures I took. I figured out the photo CD, and then I transferred them to floppies. They are labeled, and on each floppy there is a document saying what the picture is of. I will also include a floppy from NYC, a CD from Iowa(I think), and a roll of pictures that is not labeled or developed, so I don’t know what stop it is from.
Sweet. I’ll make sure that any pictures Not Currently on the Miles Photo site, will be posted there. And I’ll develop that roll of film and have them posted as well. When I have time this weekend, I’ll find out who the Australian Doper is.

He’s met Susie Derkins, Yepmas, & **Susie’**s daughter Baby Bongo Butt.
He is also now properly attired for the Tallahassee weather. Yepmas has procured for him some swim trunks, flippers, scuba mask and tank.
There’s a store similar to the one Miles was made in called the Teddy Bear Factory we got it at.
We also got him some boxers (you now, for chillin’ around the house) and he’s all ready for Valentines Day with a new tie sporting red hearts and a rose.
No, I’m not currently on the list. The 'Bash is just a short way of saying Wabash College (note the location), but it honestly didn’t occur to me that nobody else would have a clue what I’m going on about. Sorry, I wasn’t aiming to confuse anybody. All I was trying to ask in that last post was basically how long you planned on Miles being gone, and if I joined the list now, would I be able to get Miles before May?

There’s no particular order that he is being mailed in. Just pay attention to any Miles threads, post comments and such. Then, when it gets close to May, request that he is sent to you next. That’s all there is to it.

I know I’m on the “original” list of participants already…after learning the above info, I want to make an early announcement that I’d like to have him in late June of this year so I can take him to San Francisco Pride. Miles needs to have his picture taken with a Sister of Perpetual Indulgence, and to have his previous sins committed with Dopers across the world expiated!
He also needs to see some of my local haunts, including the 909/951 area codes, dubbed the “Armpit of Southern California.”
Yamirskoonir, Sweet! Keep an eye out for Miles threads, and make sure you actively pursue getting him during that time. You’ve called dibs on that date, so it’s yours. But there’s no Miles calendar, so you’ll have to make sure to inform whoever happens to have him at that time. JimSox should be getting him around May, so there might be one person in between the two of you. Whoever JimSox sends him to will be the person sending Miles to you.
… Anyway, keep an eye out for Miles threads and such.

It’s summertime here, so there are all sorts of cool and funky things that Miles can get up to for a while.
He’ll even get to go Geocaching with me and see some of the Victorian bush.
