Millstone Coffee

All four stores in our small town have stopped carrying Millstone bulk coffee beans and prepackaged ground coffee. This includes Walmart. I’ve checked their web site and did a general search in Google but nothing indicated why.

Anyone else seen this? Anyone know what’s going on?

Something like might mean the distributor stop carrying it. Though, unless it’s a local product, I’m surprised Walmart stopped too, that might indicate it’s just not selling well in your area.

What I would do is email the company and ask them who in the area sells it, or, better, ask them who the distributors in the area are. Then, contact the distributors in the area and ask them who in your area sells that coffee. If none of them do, find our what stores they sell to and approach the stores. Ask the stores to carry the coffee or just ask them to bring in a case and either offer to buy the entire case when it comes in or at least promise that you’ll stop in on a regular basis to buy it…and then do that.

Your best bet is going to be (IMO) going to one of these stores, letting them know who the distributors are, asking them to bring in a case and then telling them you’ll buy the entire case right away that way they know that they won’t be stuck with the 11 that you don’t buy.

But like I said if it disappeared from all the shelves at the same time, it might just be gone from the area, sometimes that happens. But you might have luck using my route. Sometimes big box stores (Target/Walmart etc) will all pull something, but you can still get it and the small places.

Also, it looks like you can still buy it from their website as well as Amazon.

Our local Dillon’s stores (part of the Kroger’s family) stopped carrying Millstone coffee a few months ago. I suspected something was up when most of the bean dispensers (except for a couple of the flavored coffees) were empty for a couple weeks in a row. Then one day the whole coffee aisle was rearranged and all of the Millstone was gone without a trace. I just assumed they quit carrying it (as they often do with products I buy regularly  ) so it’s interesting to hear that this isn’t an isolated incident.

Walmart still sells it on line. I wonder if the company is shifting to totally on-line sales?

My local Kroger stopped carrying it about 8 months ago. I always liked grinding the beans in the store. It was very good coffee.

It was hard to find. Theres 4 Krogers I shop at, depending on what part of town I’m visiting. Only 2 of them had Millstone.
