Mindhunter (Netflix)

Actually, that guy played the part of a watcher in Fringe, in which Anna Torv also starred.

Just finished watching Season 2. I thought it was great, start to finish. Even liked the personal story subplots of all the characters. Was sure the FBI AD Gunn was going to really cross the line in his office with Dr. Wendy Carr. Kemper, though only briefly shown in season 2, was excellent and is by far the creepiest of the sociopaths. Manson’s role was really well done. Entire cast and production is excellent. Of course, they’ve all been released from their contract for subsequent seasons because producer David Fincher is a tosser who things he has better things to produce.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed this show. I would rate it around 90% on my private meter (sort of like saying that I enjoyed it more than 9 out of every 10 TV shows). But I find myself unable to provide a good review that would explain why I would rate it that high.

One thing I very much appreciated was the casting of the two leads. Both of them are shown to be dedicated to their jobs yet each is flawed in some ways that might be seen as unusual.

Bottom line? I would recommend this TV show to anyone who thinks they may be interested. The Show Runner made some unusual choices but I think those choices worked out very well.

There is a Season Two? Oh my! I never knew there was a Season Two. BBL. Heh. Heh.

IMHO, Anna Torv is the epitome of the adjective “sultry”.

Pls do not misunderstand this. She does a fine job in this show. But it is my opinion that much of her talent is wasted. I don’t mean anything bad by that in regards to this show. I just mean that it seems to me she has a ton of talent that is not required or used in this show and she is certainly capable of starring in a show of her own and carrying that show either by herself or together with a supporting cast.

I would agree about Anna Torv being underutilized.

If you want to see more Torv, she is a main character in the series I mentioned upthread, “Secret City.” There are two (short) seasons available to stream on Netflix and also Amazon Prime.

I really enjoyed both seasons. Everyone I have recommended the show to has loved it. Unfortunately, it looks like it won’t get a season 3 to wrap things up.

I recently listened to the audiobook of John Douglas’s latest book The Killer Across the Table. It is read by Jonathan Groff, making it an interesting listening experience.

Oh! I didn’t know. I should have known by checking IMDB.

Thank you very much.

My assumption was that season 3 would have been more about her since season 1 was more about Ford, season 2 about Tench…but we may never know.

Man, that really sucks that there won’t be any more Mindhunter. I really enjoyed season 2 even though I think it strayed a lot from what I loved about season 1.

For anyone that found the Atlanta killings plotline interesting, season 2 of Hap & Leonard reminded me a lot of that.

I just finished Season 1, and I enjoyed it a lot, but the Holden Ford character is pretty annoying. I understand that his immaturity, lack of social understanding, and single-mindedness are supposed to be a type, and maybe even the faintest echo of the people they study, but I’m not sure I’m going to finish Season 2 if they spend a lot more time with this.
