Finally got the immigration process almost complete, all I have left to do is my interview at the US Consulate in Montreal and from there - crossing the border! (YAY!) So I’ll be in Montreal this weekend and thought it would be kinda neat to meet the local Dopers (whoever is interested, that is)

So, who wants to entertain my mother dear and I? :smiley: We’re staying at the Hotel Dufort and I will be struggling mightily to get along with my poor understanding of quebecois french. We’ll be flying in on the 24th and out again on the 26th. A cup of coffee and a genuine poutine would be greatly appreciated, if someone could point me in the proper direction :wink:

It’s entirely possible that absolutely NOONE wants to meet me - in which case I’ll be forced to entertain my mother in Montreal’s infamous strip clubs. Not a pretty thought.

Alas, I’ll by on my way to New York on Sunday, so I’ll have to pass, but I can tell you that those Montreal folks’ll take good care of you!

Oops. Just checked the dates and realized Venoma’s here Sunday to Tuesday. In any case, same deal for Sunday & Monday in terms of my availabilty - before 8 PM or after 10 PM. How about Sunday late afternoon? I can meet Venoma at the hotel…

Umm, since Venoma wants a poutine, how about we go to La Belle Province on Ste-Catherine west of Guy first, then retire to Second (non-smoking, grr) Cup or Presse afterward?
