Minor accomplishments

I’ve gotten all the music in iTunes properly tagged! Or at least close. Now I just have to figure ripping all my CDs.

We finished building our little retaining wall this weekend. Now I just have to fill the dirt in. Our yard is almost finished now. Five long years of work every summer. Maybe it isn’t that minor an accomplishment.

I’ve done my tax return and submitted it. Now I’m just awaiting my refund.

Oops, thanks for reminding me, Cunctator. :smack:

My lawnmower part finally came in; I installed it, and mowed the grass.

Took almost 6 weeks. :frowning:

I have resumed exercising. I will get a 4-pack or die trying.

I was responsible for a charity brunch for 50 people on Sunday. Not only did I get everything cooked and presented on time (including a new batch of zucchini muffins to replace the ones the ants got into overnight), but it was apparently enjoyed and was eaten down to a non-daunting amount of leftovers.

I dragged myself out of bed, made a smoothie, and went to work.

We got a letter from the IRS yesterday. Paraphrasing:

I can’t help hearing this as if it were being said by Roseanne Roseannadanna!

I washed my motorcyle and chammied off all the chrome bits.

I finally ironed a couple of work shirts that have been draped over an easy chair for the past couple of months. I don’t really like the shirts which is why I just now got around to it but it makes the living room look less messy which is good.

We paid off our dd’s rent to own band instrument this month, and she hasn’t changed instruments yet! (ok, so she’s added another one, which has her playing two instruments, but she can get a bassoon from the school. I’m not buying one those until she’s played it for at least five years. Those suckers are expensive.)

I finally managed to tidy up Mt Clothing, which had been sitting on my bedroom floor for roughly 6 weeks (the contents of Mt Clothing rotated regularly, but some semblance of a pile didn’t leave that spot for the entire month and a half). The bedroom looks so much bigger now that it’s gone!

Next up - rotating seasonal clothes in both the dressers and closet (fall/winter in, spring/summer out) and doing the same for footwear.

I finally got rid of all the nasty carpet in the front room, and now all we have is ugly tile. I like the ugly tile better!

I ran at an 11:30 pace for 3 straight minutes during my 30 minute run today.

Only impressive if you consider where I started–running 16 minute miles.

My first book is coming out next week. I just received my final payment on it. YAY. It’s about a software program,so it’s boring and not like a HUGE FUN BIG NOVEL, but I"m proud of it in my own quiet way

Wow, my accomplishments are really minor, compared to some of these others.

My vacuum would not work. It took 2 1/2 hours, and I had to take every bit of it apart, but it now works like a charm.

I have a job interview on Thursday. It is not really a job I’m dying to do, but at this point in unemployment, I’m dying to work anywhere. Plus, I would be able to ride my bike to work, and I love love love riding my bike.

I started a half-marathon training program yesterday and completed my first run (6 miles) at ten seconds per mile under the pace I am targeting.

Also, I got a lot of laundry done.

Well, I’ve gotten all the shoveling done. Now I just have to put up the plastic fence and plant all the raspberries. I don’t know what I’ll do with the yard finished. Find more projects to do in it, I imagine.
