Misinterpreted avatars

I noticed that too. I considered changing mine but you you beat me to it. I do appreciate that. Sometimes being courteous is a real cool hand!
;~)

^Very cool.

Meanwhile, lots of people think my avatar is beer related, probably due to viewing on a phone’s small screen.

Or a computer’s large screen??

It’s not so much misinterpreted honestly, but insufficiently clear: @Broomstick .

I mean, it’s pretty pixelated, my brain generally interpreted it as a pilot in a open cockpit airplane with part of a yellow wing above, but I could be totally wrong.

Or maybe it’s a cubist interpretation of something else entirely!

And previously, @Left_Hand_of_Dorkness had the same avatar, but yours and his faced opposite directions.

I changed mine once others were using it, found my current “cool hand” icon.

Clearly a Saturn V rocket to my eyes.

“There will come a day when youth will pass away…”
I prefer the Louis Prima version!

I see @Babale 's avatar as a man’s face yeah, i know it’s an antelope, and i see that if i look closely. But the top part looks like hair and the bottom like a beard to me.

It’s me sitting in the cockpit of a 1942 Stearman biplane shortly before take-off. That is, indeed, a yellow upper wing.

Well, the bottom does have a beard.

And it’s a noble Nubian Ibex, not an antelope :stuck_out_tongue:

Mosquito? I thought that was a mutant hummingbird!

I always assumed it was frothy iced tea, the kind frequently served at all those breweries you’re always visiting!

Love Louis Prima, but a local musician who is a good friend does a cover that brings tears to people’s eyes. Singer had a full, rich youth but is now looking back with sad envy for what he once had, knowing it’s gone forever. He slows it way down, adding all kinds of melancholy. Usually the last song of the night.

The antelope’s beard is a shock of hair on the back of the man’s head. Or the ibex’s, i guess. I nearly wrote “goat” the first time, and then thought, hmm, that’s not quite right for a goat, it must be some kind of antelope. But i guess it actually is a kind of goat.

The tip of the horn is the eye, the brown splotch behind it is the hair on the front of the face, and the bottom of the nose is… I’m not sure if that’s the back of the goat or something in the stone wall behind it.

Great minds…

That’s just cruel. Now I want to hear it. Have him throw it up on YouTube!

I usually find these more complicated avatars easier to read if they have the background removed.

I once briefly thought @thorny_locust 's avatar was a red habanero pepper, but in a larger view it’s clearly a strawberry.

I’ve been wondering for ages: is the avatar of @BobLibDem a collection of strange sea monsters, or a bizarre map of Michigan?

It’s a bizarre map of Michigan with a Spartan (MSU) helmet replacing the lower peninsula.
