Misinterpreted general news titles

The Adobe Revival Is Here

So, I knew that the suite of software tools for graphic artists and web designers / developers has been suffering from competition on all sides in recent years, as well as struggling to stay relevant with the AI revolution, but apparently they’re making strides to shore up their market share and come roaring back into their former prominence, eh?

Oh…

Never mind.

Too late, I already read your post! I didn’t mind it, though.

Your title fooled me. IMO it should read “Misinterpreted news headlines and article titles”

Without more context, around here the plain word "title’’ means "thread title ". At least to me.

So I should post my misunderstanding of your thread title in the thread I cited in the post I deleted.

That’s about 5 layers of confused & confusing meta. How’s that?

Yeah, you’re right-- headline would have been more accurate than title. I guess I had the word ‘Titles’ on the brain since I was sort of echoing the ‘Misinterpreted Thread Titles’ thread. Apologies for causing your misinterpretation.

I do like all things meta!

You could report your OP and ask a mod to update the title to something that works better and maybe attracts more attention. So far you and me discussing your title is all the posting traffic you’ve gotten.

Eh, maybe, but I suspect that it’s just not that common to notice misinterpreted general news headlines. I kind of suspected right after I posted that this might be a dud of a thread, and sometimes that’s OK. They can’t all be winners.

Maybe I should just let this thread die peacefully in its sleep and end its suffering, instead of trying extreme lifesaving measures, if that’s what is to be. Ce sera sera.

Not that I mind that this thread has become what amounts to a private chat so far, though.

With 63 witnesses.

Let 'em lurk. Who knows, maybe this will turn into a sleeper thread. Couple weeks down the line, one of the ‘witnesses’ might misinterpret a news headline and think “hey, I should post this to that one weird SDMB thread”.
