miss-you songs

I’m missing someone right now, and I feel like indulging it.

anyone got some emo goodness for me? preferably non-radio, but don’t refrain if it’s a great song.

but please, please for the love of god, no whiny boys. aka, if you even mention the abomination that is Blink-182, I will have you shaved, sterilized, and destroyed. =)

thanks!

Well, not emo (since I hate it), but you can’t go wrong with Miss You- Rolling Stones.

Are you missing someone who you love and loves you back, but is temporarily unavailable? Or are you missing someone who dumped you? Because that’s going to make a difference regarding what songs to recommend.

thanks; I actually haven’t heard that.
this is just so annoying, 'cause I have a million songs on any topic, except this. the only one I know is “I Miss You” by Incubus-- a good song, but I can only listen to it so many times, y’know?

ahh, good point. fortunately it’s the first. =)

As I Lay Me Down by Sophie B. Hawkins

I posted this in a wedding music thread recently, but it works here, too. I swear I’m really not trying to pimp her out musically. This is actually the only song of hers I’ve ever heard, but I really like it.

mmm… those are such sweet lyrics. thank you.

Just How Lonely by Southern Culture on the Skids

Are you lonesome tongiht? - Elvis

I can’t stop loving you - Ray Charles

Kid Dynamite-SOS

Kid Dynamite sounds like 80’s hardcore punk meets 90s pop-punk (Screeching Weasel, not Blink 182). Sample lyrics:

omg-- SCOTs is fuckin’ hilarious. so I’m sure that song’s not what I was lookin’ for, Foolonthehill, but I bet I’ll appreciate it anyway. =D

thanks ccwaterback, but those seem like maybe “I-got-dumped” songs…?

and nice lyrics IKenSpelGud; I’ve never heard of that band or song, both good things. =)

“So Far Away” by Carole King. I think it’s the perfect ‘I miss you’ song.

When my fiancée called off the engagement, I found myself listening to The Kinks Missing Persons

:frowning:

From the soundtrack to Team America: World Police

Pearl Harbor
I miss you as much,
that guy missed the mark,
when he made Pearl Harbor

I’ve always like Dire Straits’ “So Far Away”… not sure if it’s the same as the Carole King one well he’s back mentioned.

How about 2000 Miles by The Pretenders:

Or maybe Misty Morning, Albert Bridge, by The Pogues:

“Miss You” by Eric Clapton

thanks guys! surprisingly, I haven’t heard any of these-- not even the Eric Clapton one (and I like Eric Clapton).

well, except the one from Team America…
“pearl harbor sucked
just a little more than I miss you…”

fits of giggling

Finch - “Letters to You”, the acoustic version.

When you want to be depressed, you can’t go wrong with Counting Crows. Adam Duritz, the lead singer, is the most depressing sonofabitch on the face of the earth. Johnny Cash would tell this man to lighten up.
