Missing child...for more than a month now

What? You never heard of AstroGlide??

Awesome.

Well, to be fair, it’s happened more than once that a child has died by accident (whether the parent’s fault or not) and the parent has freaked out and hidden the body, or put it into bed, or carried it around with them, etc. Even when people don’t murder their children sometimes they act irrationally with the bodies.

Not that I’m saying that’s what happened in this case, but it’s not whackjob crazy to say that a child could have come to “death by misadventure” and still decomposed in the trunk of a car. Hell, the child could have classically done a “hide and seek in the trunk leads to tragedy” - it wouldn’t be the first time.

I swear, if a supermarket tabloid reveals that Casey let Caylee be adopted by a Bigfoot family living north of Kamloops, with the adoption brokered by Elvis while on vacation from the 7-11, it would be somewhat more believable than what has actually happened in this case so far!

Or maybe, Carrot Top and the Lab wanted a daughter to raise…

She may be back in jail by Saturday.

Does anyone else think there’s a whole pile of evidence the police are sitting on? If so, why the offer of limited immunity?

We haven’t seen Cynthia and George lately…I fear they have seen the light when it comes to their darling Casey, unless her attorney told them to zip it.

My opinion is that Cynthia has been wearing blinders for all of Casey’s life, basically brushing off or ignoring the evidence of the girl’s chronic lying.

Since she’s been in such huge denial about Casey’s problem, I think that if Cynthia has finally faced the truth of who Casey is and what she’s capable of, then she’s probably quite devastated and probably a basket case right about now.

Sad. But the more I read about it, the more I think that Casey has some problem like Borderline Disorder or something which makes her ignore reality and fabricate her own. It’s time Cynthia admitted that the girl has a problem. Looks like it came at the price of her granddaughter’s life.

I was wondering where Casey learned to be a habitual liar if not from her parents. Or is that a symptom of Borderline Disorder?

Maybe she’s just a chronic lying bitch, no more, no less. No big childhood event or mental disorder necessary.

I think I have that wrong; after re-reading about disorders I think that Borderline is not the one I was thinking of. Apparently that one was Dissocial Personality Disorder.

From the Wiki article:

Remember the jailhouse conversation where a friend expressed concern for Caylee and Casey said “oh well” or words to that effect? -> lack of empathy.
Telling nine yards of tall tales as explanation of things also seems to fit. One which stood out in my mind was when she said the baby would “be home by her birthday”. I got a feeling that she was just saying anything she could to shift blame from herself, with no regard for Cynthia’s feelings (or anyone else’s for that matter).

I could be wrong.

Casey’s mother is now saying that someone else could have put a dead body in the trunk while it was abandoned. :smack:

I fear Mrs. Anthony is not familiar with that brand of razor manufactured by Occam.

That, or she’s bought a lot of riverfront acreage in Egypt.

Lots of developments over the weekend.

Casey is back in jail on check fraud charges. It is unlikely she will get out because Leonard “Trying to Cash In On the Publicity Surrounding A Missing Child” Padilla has revoked her $500,000 bond for child neglect charges.

Police now say that DNA evidence shows Caylee is dead and was in the trunk of her mother’s car.

Casey has turned down the offer of limited immunity.

There are now people showing up to protest in front of the Anthony home, believe that Cindy (the grandmother) knows more than she’s saying.

I thought the air samples only revealed that there was a dead body in the car and that hair samples showed that the child was in the car but no definite statement has been made yet that the child was dead.

FBI forensics show that the evidence in the car that is Caylee’s was decomposed.

Apparently, there’s more evidence the police have not released yet, and the police are fairly certain she’s dead.

Oh well. I knew it would lend like this but you still hold out hope you know. Hopefully she didn’t suffer too much.

That’s kinda scary. I hope law enforcement is keeping an eye on these protestors. Guilty or not, we don’t need vigilante justice.

In this case, I’m not so sure.

No, we don’t. The woman was out of line. Walk on the sidewalk, but do not trespass and DON’T bang on the door.

I think Caylee’s grandmother is deep in denial, and unless Caylee’s body is shoved under her nose, she won’t believe it.

Even then, I’ll bet she’ll still defend Casey, because the alternative is too horrific for a parent to consider.

leaffan, in this case things seem cut and dried, and specators can be reasonably sure of Casey’s guilt and Cynthia’s complicity.

However in other cases things aren’t so clear. If we allow this kind of thing to go unchecked in this case, people will be emboldened to do it in every case. Do you want some nutjob deciding that you’re guilty of something, and then stalking your family?

ivylass: Agreed. One thing about Cynthia (I mentioned this before) is that I think she wanted Caylee more than Casey did. If Cynthia had gained full custody then this might not have happened. Monday-morning quarterback, I know.

Notice that all three of those names start with “C”? Weird.

BTW I hope Hanna stays away from you!

We’ll probably get wet. But never to fear, there’s Ike and Josephine waiting in the wings, should Fred Phelps decide we haven’t been sufficiently punished for losing Caylee, which happened because we Floridians don’t shoot gays on sight.

Or something.

I know. I’ve got two small (well 9 and 10 now) kids. I just can’t imagine… I just honestly can’t imagine. I’d throw myself in front of a train if it meant keeping my kids safe. You know?
