Missing person

A friend is missing. What should I do?

How long have they been missing?

I guess you’re not that worried?

Have they turned up yet? Is there another thread with an update?

Have the authorities been notified?

Did you look under the couch? That’s where I always find stuff.

Either hes in the closet, or the monster under the bed got him first

Panic.
That’s what I do when something goes wrong.

In general, I’d second evilbeth’s suggestion. That’s what I always do as well. Panicking has the added benefit of making you crazy, making you do stupid, embarrassing things, and making sure that the person you are worried about yells at you.

It’s festive. It’s fun. It’s The Way To Be.

“When in danger, or in doubt
Run in circles, scream and shout.”

Seriously, more detail will elicit more helpful answers.

One obvious thing is pray (or however you find it useful to attempt to manipulate the Universe OS for the benefit of the person about whom you’re concerned).

Sorry to take so long to respond. You’ll notice I posted at 2-something in the morning…I’d forgotten starting this thread.

Here’s the weird part. I could have been talking about 2 or 3 different situations. 2 of them worked out…everything’s okay.

Judging by the date, I assume I was referring to a restaurant server friend who parks her car in my lot (works 2 blocks from here) and is always off work by midnight and checks in with me to let me know she’s okay and on her way home. That night she never showed, but she was just out partying with a buddy. She still could have called–am I right? Yes I am. No, I didn’t scold her. Just asked that she be more considerate in the future.
One friend, sadly, is still missing. My cat. It’s been 2 weeks now (she’s spayed, BTW) and I’ve checked all the local roads (no corpse), put out “missing cat” signs (no response), and, yes, prayed.
To be honest, I think she’s probably adopted someone. She’s extremely friendly, adorable as they come, and I think she just let someone pick her up.
This is a resort town, so she could be in Canada by now.
I miss her, but something tells me she’s okay.

Thanks, all, for your concern.

I’m sorry to hear about your kitty. I hope she is okay. My neighbor’s cat, a neutered male, just disappeared too, so maybe the two of them went to meet up with each other for a little rendezvous.

Did you check your other pants?

(Sorry, couldn’t help it.)
