Missouri Senate Candidate supports shooting RINOs

Greitens says we misunderstood; it was meant to be funny. And no one in Missouri takes it literally, so it’s OK.

First of all, it’s not funny. Secondly, I would not bet the farm, even a Missouri farm, that there isn’t someone out there who takes it literally and might consider it approval to shoot those who disagree with you politically. Thirdly, those of us (normal people) who didn’t take it literally are still disgusted and thinking Greitens is a violent douchebag who has no business in civilized society, must less any government office.

Ah, the old “You pussies can’t take a joke” garbage, trotted out by every bully-boy asshole for the past 100 years.

“I wuz just joking Mr. Principal! I just punched him for a joke! Really!”

Senator Biff Tannen of the great state of Missouri.

Were Greitens to crash head-first into a trailer of horse manure it would revive my faith in the universe to dispense justice.

I feel about this fuckstick the way I feel about most of these RW shitbags these days:

“We’re not generating enough angry white guys to stay in business for the long term.”

–Republican Senator Lindsey Graham

Most of these people are far more evil than stupid (I ask dispensation for MTG, Lauren Boebert, and maybe a couple others).

I tend to think they subscribe to the Graham gaffe (accidentally telling the truth).

They are insanely, and justifiably, comfortable that there’s little they can do to alienate their current base. The gamble – one in which I submit they feel very safe – is that they can reach out with ‘fringe’ candidates in deeply red areas, and invoke Whatever Crazy Is Deemed Necessary to cobble together a larger coalition without backsliding among their True Believers.

What’s to blame – supply or demand ? In my life, I’ve gone back and forth on this one. For each of these evil fucks in/seeking office, there are many, many orders of magnitude more ignorant, tribal fucks who buy what they’re being sold.

So I’m equally sick of both.

We are a deeply broken country. Leaving these people (largely: the MAGA types) alone provided a subtle measure of security in our land. Riling them up and serving them methamphetamine awoke the sleeping rubes in a rather unprecedented way.

How many deaths will Greitens’ words contribute to ? Some non-zero number, I suspect.

ISTM that any forensic investigators dispatched to assess the collision would struggle with an issue very much akin to this one (first 30 seconds - NSFW - LANGUAGE):

Silence is acceptance, yes the Dems support the Republicans because they do not stop them. Keep watching the J6 theater and you’ll see some vigorous finger wagging and pearl clutching going on. Know what you WON’T see come out of it?

A nougat filling?

Stop them how? I always see this blame thrown at Democrats or Liberals that they aren’t Doing Something about the right-wing nut-jobs. Please, even a rudimentary outline of a workable program would get my immediate support.

It’s a Snickers bar without the nougat or caramel.

What are you expecting to come out of these hearings? A ‘House Select Committee Hearing’ only has legal authority to subpoena witnesses, and no real means to even enforce those. It can make recommendations to the Department of Justice about pursuing it’s own investigation but that is pretty much it. These hearings are a mostly toothless effort to put the issues in front of the public which, unfortunately, is largely apathetic and overtaxed with their own immediate problems. Of course the MAGA crowd has been long conditioned to see this as a ‘witch hunt’ and doesn’t care about any ‘fake news’ that the committee reveals.

I mean, if you can’t get people riled up about existential threats like climate change or nuclear proliferation, what chance do you think that there is to sway public opinion about a blustering, failed insurrection and the imbeciles who facilitated it? Elon’s buying Twitter, Bezos is in space, gas is $5 a gallon and rising, and wages are flat while that $50k in college debt that GenXers took on under the promise that it would be ‘worth it’ hangs like a fucking scythe over their financial future. You want them to be worried about a little bit of light treason?

…the Democrats are running against him. And many are voting in the Republican primary.

The problem is that it’ll be hard to win since Missouri is a red state. The only other Republican running is that guy who (with his wife) pulled his gun on the BLM protestors. Both seem to be violent gun aficionados.

One thing I’ve never done in my life is try out for a position as a professional quarterback. Another thing I’ve never done is held myself out to be a competent politician and run for elected office. That doesn’t mean I don’t know when a quarterback, or group of politicians is pissing down my back and crying about all the rain. If the current batch can’t figure out how to beat a minority party, then they all need to step away and make room for someone who can. Otherwise they are responsible for that political minority from halting progress.

As for the hearings, I don’t expect anything to come of them, apart from clutched pearls and competition with the Kardashians’ TV ratings. It’s time and effort wasted because of its toothlessness, and it’s an immense jury pool poisoned in the unlikely event someone ends up indicted by its hugely publicized findings. It’s clear what happened, and it’s clear the primary instigator will never feel any consequences.

The problem with “throw the bums out” is the seemingly inexhaustible line of other bums waiting in the wings.

The money required to get into politics, to stay in politics, and just in politics is the wrong bait for the kind of person we actually need.

It’s why we “get the politicians we deserve,” time after time after time.

It’s called voting.

In spite of gains made in recent years (turnout in the last couple of elections was at the highest level in a century), only about half of all eligible Americans voted.

And it can work. Witness the TWO democrat senators elected in Georgia. We need to keep it up!

There are 21 candidates in the Republican primary. In the latest poll I could find (before this ad came out), Greitens led by a little, with MO Attny General Eric Schmitt in second and two other candidates in 3rd and 4th before McCloskey (gun-pointing guy) in 5th. And “Undecided” actually leads all candidates.

“They’re at the Henderson’s house George.”
“Fred Henderson will give them what-for if they start anything… you watch.”
< Pop >
< Pop Pop Pop Pop >
< Boom! >
< Ratta- Tat- Tat! >

.

“Jesus…! They’re dragging their bodies out into the street!
…George, I think that we better unload and hide those guns…!”

“Ok, Jennifer…”

This shit is also a politician and a former elected official who is running for a national office, which is what Twitter is basing its “in the public interest” claim. They said the same thing about TFG. It took a full scale attempt to overthrow the federal government before Twitter was even willing to suspend him for a while, and several more weeks before they made it a ban. This despite him tweeting damned near hourly for his followers to go and do something violent to help him overturn the election or to harm or hurt liberals.

You know, I’ve been thinking of changing my name, and U.Necided has a nice ring to it. Or maybe just Joe Undecided. Like Joe the Plumber.
