I had jury duty today, and while that could provide me with endless fodder for MPSIM, the funniest was the graffiti I saw in the Ladies’ room:
“Dear Rob, i love you intill the day you die 3-25-03 and i’ll love you intill the day i die. rest in pace baby.”
Beats the time I saw “Mandy is a hoe” writtien on the way of a library bathroom.
I can’t help being reminded of the film “Barcelona,” in which two Americans are walking down the street and spy some anti-American graffiti (in Spanish), which they begin to criticize for its poor spelling, and even try to correct with a ball-point pen:
“This doesn’t even say ‘American’! This says, ‘Deers, go home’!”
(Quote may not be perfectly accurate, but is close enough for the gist.)
Can tatoos go in this thread ? I saw a guy with tatoos on both arms. on one side it said “Captain” if he’s captain of a boat then that’s ok. But if it was a military rank then he has a problem because they change all the time.
But on the other arm was written: “reeks havok”
If tatoos can not go in this thread then please ignore all of the above.
This is not graffiti, but an actual stenciled notice on a garage door of a recycling center. BLOKED DOOR The light rail goes right by this place and it must be seen by 10K people or more each day.
In the bathroom of a local bar someone wrote “Hells Angles.”
This may or may not be a typo, depending on whether or not it was written by a bad ass geometry major.
There was a motorcycle gang active in Canada for a while called Satan’s Choice…and so someone spraypainted “Satin’s Choice” on the side of a building…none of those butch leathers for those guys…we just shimmer as we ride our hogs…
When I first traveled in New Zealand, I remember being a little puzzled at seeing numerous graffiti of the form
“[boy’s name] + [girl’s name] 4 eva”
Who was “eva” and why was everybody “4” her? Of course, with my Midwest American accent, I had never considered that someone would misspell “ever” (emphasis on the “errrrrrrrr”) as “eva”.
Another High School (Baldwin SHS), Mid 80’s, on the 2 story high wall on the old Woolworth’s building adjacent to the school, in 5’ High Red Spraypainted letters…
Just had an Elementary School flashback. Scratched into the divider wall in the Boy’s Room, “4Q”. Never gave it any thought and didn’t know the meaning. It wasn’t 'til years later when someone literally told me FU and that the memory of that 4Q resurfaced.
So there was a benefit to being told to fuck off for the 1st time in my life. I finally got the meaning of that 4Q I’d seen since kindergarten.
There was once an incident of racist graffiti in my home town. Some jackasses had spray-painted a bunch of swastikas and the like, along with such gems as “No Gews.” Well, at least I can be reasonably sure this isn’t the work of a rogue gang of racist rocket scientists…
