Thanks. That means I got it right.
Multiple entry level jobs are getting tougher to manage these days. Back when I was in school I worked a night job 10PM-6AM Monday-Friday and then drove a cab on weekend nights. Went to school in the early AM.
Nowadays places like Home Depot and Target make that impossible by putting their employees on rotating schedules so that the varied hours make having a second job unworkable.
What a sore loser. Also, he’s apparently deluded himself with a load or right wing propaganda.
Kind of interesting for me.
No secret I am a huge Obama fan, but during this entire election I just thought Romney was a flip-flopping opportunist who was doing anything to get elected - but might still have some core of decency tucked away in there somewhere.
However, upon reading this about him I am truly disgusted. If that is how he really thinks about the poor and unemployed, and women and students, can you just imagine what the hell would have happened had he won?!
Geez, I had no idea we were thisclose to electing such an arrogant, elitist, asshole, evil, unfeeling motherfucking jerk! How could I have not seen that spiteful, vindictive side of him?! He really is the CEO from hell. Wow.
Hell is a gated community.
Its sort of weird. You could quote pretty long chunks of that speech, and if I didn’t know who the speaker was, I’d think he was a shill for the Obama Administration:
Obama appeals to a wide variety of people: young voters, blacks, hispanics!
Healthcare for people that really wouldn’t be able to afford it anyways!
Stopped deporting immigrant children!
These are people who think that good is evil, and evil is good. I’m reminded of various rants I’ve heard about the Antichrist over the years from believers, and how often I have to ask the question “Um; in what way is this Antichrist fellow the bad guy?” And yes, they’ve argued that national health care is a sign of the Antichrist, and specifically a sign that Obama is the Antichrist.
It does piss me off a little when I hear these jackasses talk about the poor colored folk who want handouts who were responsible for electing Obama.
I’m white, middle-aged, middle-class, employed, insured and a damn fine consumer. And Republicans like to consider me a deadbeat.
Quite a few folks like me voted for Obama too.
If I may, Professor?
Granting, arguendo, that the neocons are motivated by a desire to use America’s military might to secure access to resources for the benefit of their corporate patrons, is it your contention that they would be unsatisfied were such an outcome to be accomplished without the loss of American troops’ lives?

i cannot wait until this guy is pop culture dust. how long until he is totally irrelevant and we get to stop thinking and talking about him?

the GOP has a pretty big problem on their hands. i dont think romney was a particularly bad candidate with particularly bad ideas, i just think the swing to appeal to antiquated far-right doesn’t entice enough people anymore. people are generally thinking more liberally. my take-away from the election is general consensus Obama is not that great–but he’s at least moving linearly forward. Rove/Rom/Ryan want to roll back to some idealized version of a republican nation. i just don’t think that’s the world we live in anymore.
they’re going to have to get on the trolley if they want to hold sway again. curious, the next-day flip on Immigration on foxnews.
i sense the GOP will shoot for something a little more “moderate” next time, but it will be so disingenuous and clumsy people will probably groan and roll their eyes just the same.
Amusing that a man who promised his greedy buddies he would lower their already low tax rates is whining about Obama promising people handouts.
I’m so glad the people of this country had the sense not to elect that smug shit to hold our highest office.
You overlook the sweetener, the poisonous saccharine of the neo-con: peace. World peace, because none dare challenge us. The window of opportunity narrows soon, if we don’t act right away, it will slip away, and the only future is The Nukes of August. Natually, world domination is a huge responsibility, one that can only be entrusted to the smartest and most responsible citizens of the smartest and most powerful country. Who are, of course, Republicans. Duh.
Like so much madness, it is almost sane.
Many people have said that Mitt Romney still seems to be living in the 1950’s. He’s still remembering the good old days when poor people and women and Hispanics and Asians and Jews and (occasionally) black people voted but the people they voted for were all white men.
Okay, granted, Romney was running for President and the changeover there was a lot more recent. But still Romney and the Republicans have to understand those old rules no longer apply. This is no longer a country of, for, and about white men.
Once the full Obamacare kicks in, there are subsidies for low wage earners to make insurance more affordable. So, it won’t be free (unless you are REALLY REALLY low), but it will be more reasonable.
You guys dodged a bullet.
You wouldn’t believe it from my Facebook feed. Depressing.
They were the ones shooting.
Are you arguendo-ing that massive military actions–the wars in Iraq and Afganistan, for example–can be accomplished without the loss of troops’ lives? Because that is what these sissyhawks desire, ongoing wars around the globe, to keep the military machine stoked, the defense contractors well paid, and the defense budget ever-rising. If this could somehow be accomplished without any servicepeople dying, well, I suppose they’d tolerate that, unlikely as that outcome is.
Although, maybe not–a few martyrs help to keep the home fires of jingoism and patriotism going. They don’t care either way, I suppose, is the most accurate phrasing, but they advocate policies that make unnecessary death of US troops inevitable.
You must have been busy when the tapes came out. That’s the point where I went :mad::mad::mad: - and it wasn’t even my election! Spain has seen politicians fall from glory for less than that, even though a lot of the time we put up with amounts of crap which should be enough to make Gobi flourish.
I hope he doesn’t last as long as that fucking idiot Palin. I still see that dumb bitch on tv occasionally.
Now THAT was a bullet dodged!
Speaking of Palin, I can’t believe McCain has the unmitigated gall to call Susan Rice “not very bright.” I mean, damn.
