MLB: 2013 Postseason

Right? What happened to not mentioning it?

Baseball announcers haven’t followed that rule for as long as I can remember, including during many no-hitters that actually happened.

Our local broadcasters don’t mention them.

The “don’t mention it” rule for no-hitters applies to teammates. Announcers and fans can talk about it all they want.

Local broadcasters follow the rule as long as “their” team is the one throwing the perfect game/no hitter. If it’s their team not hitting, they’ll mention it.

Hey I don’t care if they want to mention it in passing, once an inning even, but when every 18 seconds you’re describing the magnitude of post-season no-hitters, and covering the screen with no-hit graphics, and singing “Tigers have a combined no-hitter” to the tune of “Hey Jude”…well it all seemed a bit much is all I’m saying.

Great postseason so far, made doubly sweet knowing that this will be the last year we have to put up with Tim McCarver.

Is McCarver retiring? Oh, be still my heart!
(or is someone - finally! - going to bump him off?)

I heard somewhere that good pitching beats good hitting…

(It certainly did Yesterday.)

Your faith that they will find someone better is admirable, but unrealistic.

If they re-hire Joe Morgan, I…

Well, I’ll cry.

(I know he was ESPN. A girl can have horrible nightmares.)

You’re a bad person for saying this, it’s a bad thing to say, and you should feel bad.

Well, that was timely.

Go Sox!

I turned 26 on Monday; the Sox and the Pats seem to be conspiring to ensure I never see 27. Holy last-minute comebacks Batman.

Bullpen couldn’t hold a lead today, but it took a grand slam for the Sox to get out of their home field with a split.

What a crazy sports day here in Foxboro/Boston…who writes these scripts!?

Based on today’s results? Some combination of Hitler and Satan.

You Detroit fans now understand why I wasn’t very upset that Benoit is no longer with the Rangers. However, the Tigers are in the playoffs and the Rangers are watching.

I have this recurring nightmare, in which one of two horrible things happen: (1) McCarver unretires and continues announcing, or (B) McCarver is replaced by Ken “The Hawk” Harrelson.

I’m not sure which version is worse.
