MLB 2021 Playoffs

The Dodgers have already gone through a good chink of their bullpen. If Jansan enters it will really be a nailbiter for Dodger fans.

Aaaaaand, the nail biter goes into the 9th.

Cards hitters swinging wildly. This can’t end well

Shit, AP walkoff?

With Pujols up and out, I have to call it a night. Can’t do the extra innings. Morning shift :frowning:

Extra inning playoff baseball reminds me of a heavyweight championship bout. The intensity. The chance for a stunning one punch KO. Everybody on their feet. I dont understand people who say that baseball is boring.

Shit, well, it was a good game. The better team absolutely won, but we put up a fight

Woo! CT3!

Man, I hate being in the wild card game.

I’m looking forward to the NorCal-SoCal war.

And you’d better believe I’m pulling for Los Gigantes!

Well, that was some baseball. A couple of drunk Cards fans here at a sports bar in Chicago are not happy

I’m never happy to see the Dodgers win, but Giants vs Dodgers is the way it should be. Hopefully they tired out their bullpen a bit.

Incredible, tense game!

As a Giants fan, I turned the TV off even before Taylor’s HR ball landed.

This will be a great NLDS.

Go Giants!!!

I read that the teams have never met in the playoffs. The emotions will be high and the knuckleheaded contingent of fans, especially Dodger fans, will make this series even tenser. Avoid wearing Giants gear at the games at Dodger Stadium especially if the Dodgers are behind in the series.

Yes it is the way it should be, but since they have the two best records in all of baseball it would be better if they met in the NLCS. Not this early.

Go dodgers!!!

*tho the giants shoulda stayed in NY … I mean I know they were rivals there too but what was alston thinking by bringing them along?

Was thinking today that this series was just wrong; it should have been ATL vs STL. My point being, maybe they could revamp the format. A division winner gets an automatic bid but not necessarily an automatic seed. The seeds should be determined by W-L record. So in my hypothetical scenario, the seeds would be as follows:

  1. SF
  2. LA
  3. MIL
  4. ATL/STL

No, not sour grapes - I think SF would beat STL in a best of five, and with little trouble. I actually think it sucks that LA’s season could have ended tonight. I would have had no problem with Atlanta’s season ending tonight.

Saw on a non-reliable source that this is the first time the Giants and the Dodgers have faced each other in the post season.

It kinda makes sense.

One could argue the 1951 tiebreaker NLCS was kind of a postseason. It certainly gave baseball one of its greatest moments.

This was only the second wild card game to end on a homer, the other being Edwin Encarnacion’s home run in the 2016 ALWC.

For the Dodgers-Giants NLDS the pitching matchups for games 1 and 2 are:

G1 — Walker Buehler and Logan Webb
G2 — Julio Urias and Kevin Gausman

Gausman and Webb were the starters in the only 2 games I went to this season.

Both were great games.

Game 053 on 30 May, SFG 5 - LAD 4 at Dodger Stadium, LP Clayton Kershaw

Game 162 on 03 Oct, SFG 11 - SDP 4 at Oracle Park, LP Reiss Knehr

Are they still starting extra innings with a man on 2nd? Even in the playoffs?

Nope. Regular baseball rules in the post-season.
