“And now, after two strikes, he’s going to try to find a way to put this in play.”
Wow, who would have thunk? Thanks for that blinding insight.

HUGE hit by Gillaspie, all the way to triples corner.
Giants up 4-3 in the 8th, with one out and a runner on third. Exciting stuff.

Kris Bryant ties it with a 2-run homer in the 9th.
Is anyone else here, or am i just talking to myself?
I’m still here.
The Giants have got this. No worries.
Wow, what a great catch in a pressure situation!
And…we go to the 13th.
Baseball is a stupid game. I love it.
How is this review taking so long?
It’s clear he was out.
See you tomorrow for Game 4!
Giants win.
Let’s do this again tomorrow.
BELIEVEN
YES*! YES! YES!!!*
Go Giants!!!
What’s the deal with the Swedish “Believen” signs?
Cubs win this tomorrow… as long as they sit Chapman. No confidence in that young man.
I think they were disputing whether or not husband foot was on first base when he caught the ball. Clearly out, but worth a try.
Are we talking about the plat at 1st when the Cubs 1B pulled his foot off the bag? If so, from all the replays shown, the batter was not clearly out. The 1B may or may not have had his foot touching the bag when he caught the ball.
The call on the field was Out, and all the replays did not have evidence to overturn the call, or even uphold the call. Therefore, the call stood.
The runner was not clearly out.
It’d be so weird the series was the Cubs and Indians. It’s the only way the Cleveland team doesn’t get to be the starved, plucky underdogs. But I tend to think of sports droughts and stuff in terms of cities more than teams - it means less if a team from your city in your less favorite sport wins, but it’s still meaningful if you’re a general fan of that city. And so I could never feel that sorry for the Cubs or pre 2004 Red Sox as neither city felt true pain. Especially Boston - the idea that they were calling themselves a tortured sports city was a joke.
But if the Cavs and Indians somehow won it in the same year after 60 years of city-wide drought that would be amazing. Everyone should be rooting for Cleveland.
MadBum finally has a bad post-season game, and the Giants still find a way to win and extend their season. Now it goes to Lackey, who’s accomplished but aging. I think it goes five games. I still think Chicago wins.
The Cubs are a powerhouse team, and a franchise that has been among the wealthiest in the game for years. The Cubs are no underdogs.
Well, one of my teams is through, while the other faces an elimination game today.
Thoughts on how the Indians and Blue Jays match up? I feel like the Indians’ lack of rotational depth is going to hurt them a lot more in this series than it did against Boston. Still, if Kluber can go on short rest twice…
Goddammit. 1984 all over again.
I was hoping the Cubs would make it to the World Series, only to lose it by walking in the winning run in the seventh game. That would be an awesome way to blow it.
Hey, it’s tradition.
John Lackey goes tonight. Great - a skeleton in the closet, as a rookie he started and won the 2002 WS game 7 for the Angels. It’s time to exorcise that demon.
1984 - let’s hope you’re right!
