MLB. And here comes the Post Season!

Agreed. Really stupid decision. Like someone said a little earlier, it’s a “be seen to be doing something” move.

Los Angeles does too, more or less. The Angels are in the City of Anaheim but it’s one big city, really.

…and yet the move ultimately produces a home run.

Granted it might not have been needed/as important if Lester hadn’t given up the two runs, but if that isn’t sports in a nutshell then I don’t know what is.

I would keep Lester in for the 7th and pray he gets out clean. Then bring in Arrieta for the 8th and the Cuban Missle Crisis for the 9th

All starters are way, way less effective once they’re facing the opposing lineup for the third time. Bringing in good relievers is a smart move.

You can’t do this during the regular season because you’d burn out your bullpen, but today there is nothing to burn them out for.

This is a nail-biter. So much can happen in 3.5 innings. It ain’t over til it’s over. Cubs better keep that lead, damnit. I don’t want to deal with all the crying.

But these guys have seen Lester several times in the series as well. My thought is that I don’t care if I have Cy Young fresh in the bullpen; I know that Hendricks is pitching well tonight. Maybe Cy won’t be on tonight. Why take away what is working well in the hopes that a change will be just as good?

The four run lead was a cushion in case Hendricks got in trouble, then the bullpen could shut it down. If Lester gets lit up, what then? Bring on Chapman for a four inning save?

It may very well work out fine and we won’t talk about it after tonight, but the move seems uncommonly silly to me.

As a neutral watcher (although I am pulling for the Cubs) this game has been fantastic.

Tons of drama and action and I couldn’t be happier with the situation. Game 7! Cubs! Indians! History!

Time for the 7th inning stretch.
This one’s for you, Harry.

Just because you can put your ace in as a reliever, because it’s Game 7…doesn’t mean you should. Madison Bumgarner may have poisoned managers minds for a long time.

Using starters are relievers in the world series isn’t anything new. It was happening before MadBum (although he did it best), but it just seems like a panic button move where there didn’t need to be one.

I mean, it’s worked out fine since that first half inning…but still…

AGAIN!! Wow. I disagree with this pitching change as well. One infield single and in comes Chapman.

Why? Chapman should be able to handle 4 outs just fine. It’s not like they need to save Chapman’s arm for anything.

I disagree with this as well, but not as vehemently as before.

It’s not completely unheard of for a closer to get an extra out, and I would want to keep chapman on the bench as long as possible, and this is about as soon as I’d allow.

Let’s hope this decision ends up working out

Y’all want some real entertainment, check out the Chicago Police scanner. Already jumping on cars and stoplights pulled over.

Oooooh, 6-4…

Because Lester was doing just fine. Why bring in Chapman for the sake of Chapman? 6-4.

Nail bitter. This is the first time in 28 years that I’ve been in the States during a series and it looks like I picked a good one.

Dammit!

Holy crap!

Joe Maddon you have chosen…poorly

Now the Cubs have no more aces in their deck…
