MLB. And here comes the Post Season!

I say this in all seriousness: I have no idea what’s happening right now.

I don’t see this going past 9.

Joe played too hard for his own good and is going to suffer because of it.

I love how the announcer (Smoltz?) just went through Joe’s managing foils in these last few games

Think Chapman’s gone?

A two-strike BUNT?

WTF? A bunt with two strikes??? By Baez? The guy with a HR today? When a sac fly scores the go ahead run?

I can’t defend that decision.

I don’t get this messed up bunt in the top of the 9th by the Cubs player. He hit it, and the announcers said it was in fair territory, but it counts as a strike? The catcher didn’t even bother to pick it up and tag him. What’s the rule on those kinds of bunts?

And this is where the Cubs lose.

Holy shit, what a play…

Just like the Cavs comeback this is shaping up to be one of those exaggerated sports stories you see in movies.

I have never seen a more important close game played so badly. Four errors, baserunning mistakes, a wild pitch that allowed two runs, a guy getting picked off, and a failed bunt on a third strike. So far.

ETA: if Chapman really is still in I think the World Series is going to end very soon and very spectacularly.

He fouled it straight back into the catcher. A bunt foul is always a strike, even with 2 strikes.

This game has been ghastly for my blood pressure. Goddamn.

Chapman is still pitching?!? I give up.

Chapman back out? For the love of God why?

Or managed this badly

ETA: From Maddon I should say. Francona has been fine

It struck the plate (fair territory) and went foul. Once the catcher touches it in foul territory, it is a dead ball. Fouled bunt is not treated like other foul balls on two strikes, and it’s an out.

(a) Announcers are stupid. (b) It bounced straight down and off the batter, and that is always a foul ball, no matter where the batter is standing. And a foul bunt attempt with 2 strikes is an out (listed as a strikeout).

I stand by my previous contention that this has been a really boring series…up through Game 6. This game is INCREDIBLE. I’m glad I’m not a fan of either team – I’d be dying.

Chapman is hanging these sliders like laundry on a wash line.
