So I was counting on my local sports station to have a webcast of the playoffs. But they’re going with a different feed (probably a rights issue).
Anyone know where I can get that stream for free? MLB.com will give it to me free for signing up for Sports Illustrated but they want a credit card number and they’ll automatically charge it to renew the sub.
So cancel the subscription as soon as you can:)
I think you’re out of luck, JC. MLB.com most likely has a lock on Playoff bitcasts, just like they do in the regular season. Found that out a few years ago when I wanted to listen to the Cubs on WGN.
Rather, I found out about MLB clamping down on regular season bitcasts from sites other than themselves when I went to wgn.com a few years ago, trying to find a Cubs game.
Hey, if you like I can call you from Oakland tomorrow night and tell you what’s happening.
Yeah, I noticed that worldseries.com wanted money as well. This makes me think that it won’t be legally free anywhere. That being said, if you really want to hear it, some searching of local sports-talk channels on live365.com might turn up a station or two that is too dumb to know they’re not supposed to be airing it.
If you didn’t notice, worldseries.com automatically refreshes, although it’s obviously not the same.
Give em the 15 bucks to sign up for the season. I think its worth it.
