MLB Playoffs

I hate the Yankees as much as the next guy, but it was tough seeing Jeter go down that way. I hope at age 38 he’s able to come back from that…

Well, Tigers 1-0, that’s good. And there is no need to bring up my obviously insincere (and unsuccessful ) attempt to find an assassin to disappear a certain closer in the eighth.

Couple minor league pitchers.

The spirit of a rule is for when they make the rule. The actual rule is what is important.

I never saw the play and I don’t remember my baseball rules like I did when I was a kid. However, (at one time anyway) the rule was based on whether an infielder was camped under a ball facing the infield. Whether and how far into the ourfield had nothing to do with it.

He was certainly never “camped” under the ball. He was backpedaling until he ran away, and was never closer than about six feet or so to where the ball landed.

The Yankees look like they are going to be in a 2 game hole with Verlander on deck. No offense at all.

None taken.

Ouch. A-Rod, Granderson, Swisher, and (most remarkable to me) even Cano have lost their bats. With Jeter going down, Ichiro, Ibanez, and Teixeira won’t be able to do it on their own.

A-Rod, Granderson, and Swisher so far have 34 strikeouts and two RBIs between them in the postseason.

It was almost pitiful to see the crowd applauding A-Rod for finally getting a single in this game.

GO GIANTS!

that is all…

I’m the next guy, and I love it.

OK, then maybe I don’t hate the Yankees quite as much as all that. But then again, I reserve the deepest, darkest, depths of my hatred for the Dodgers.

The Cardinals are playing right into the Giants hands in game 1…I can’t believe they were foolish enough to fall for the old “let them get a 6-0 lead, then come back and win” ploy…

GO CARDINALS!

that is all…

Two teams I hate, one team I’m indifferent to, and one team I like a little. Bah to the 2012 postseason as it currently stands.

sigh

Go Tigers.

Yay, offense! Quite a novelty after the Yankee/Tigers games.

Of the surviving four teams, the Yankees are the only one I hate, but I’m indifferent to the others. I had hoped to root for the Nats, of course, and in their absence, I could have cheered for the A’s, O’s, or Reds, but every last team I felt some affinity for is gone.

Dear Yankees:

Since a sweep at the hands of the Tigers is pretty much inevitable at this point, please do us a favor: lose in 9 innings, rather than giving us false hope with 9th inning rallies and then losing in extra innings.*

We can take losing- but there’s no reason you should deprive us of sleep, too.
-Your fans.
*Verlander should make this fairly easy, I would imagine.

Isn’t it best of seven? They’re only down 2-0.

The Reds and Giants would like to disagree…

I would appreciate it if you would start cheering for the Giants, given your record so far…
