Well, I just saw a guy in the stands wearing a hooded jacket, so it looks like it might be kinda chilly…
All I can say is, these guys are driving me nuts. Good thing I don’t smoke; the Nats would have me going through a full pack, the way Stanhouse used to have Earl Weaver doing, back in another lifetime.
ETA: Alert baserunning by Desmond. Now make something of it, guys!
Well, that was a pretty good out there and some good baserunning.
I thought that was gone for sure when Harper hit it. Stupid cold weather and wind-blowing-in.
Both teams have got to be running low on pitchers. May be a big deal if we go to say the 15th.
Washington has the benefit of having Tanner Roark (2.85 in about 200 innings) pushed to the bullpen for the playoffs - you have to think we see him pretty soon, maybe Soriano for an inning first. Lincecum warming for a similar role for SFO right now.
Commentators were saying that Lincecum was up in the bullpen. You know you’re low on pitchers when you’ve got your starters warming up for relief duty.
I just switched over to the Dodgers game during the commercial. I know I’ve complained in the past that one of the problems with TV is that you can’t see the defensive alignment, but that little diamond they have up in the corner is really distracting.
Lincecum hasn’t been a starter for a couple months now;he’s been in the 'pen. He’s on the roster as a ‘long reliever’ only.
Of course, he hasn’t really done terribly well as a reliever either, so the fact that we may need him to pitch at all is quite terrifying.
Ah. I hadn’t paid attention to the Giants pitching roster. Thanks for the correction.
Well, I guess I am watching A st/ USC instead of the greatest team so its no loss to Fox but seriously I missed the game last night due to the great american beerfest and now I can’t watch the game due to being on a minor network. I won’t watch a single game of the NLDS until game three and thats just wrong.
Got my picture-in-picture going now, with the game in LA in the 2nd inning.
I feel like there should be some sort of Doge meme for this game (and the postseason so far in general). Much innings. Very baseball.
Or something like that.
Fine throw by Ramos, there.
I think I must have died about 4 innings ago, and this is purgatory.
It’s the only possible explanation.
Dodgers have runners at first and third with no-one out in the third inning.
Double play, 4-3, and the run scores.
And apparently the Cardinals didn’t get the tag on Grienke. Although I don’t see how they overturned it.
While a little out of date, this article makes me think this game is now tied for the third-longest postseason game by number of innings.
This night is going to last forever,
last all, last all summer long
Except it’s fall, of course. Bottom of the 15th…
So what do we do if the Dodgers game ends before the Nationals game does?
