For most of my life that would have been an oxymoron.
Indeed. They are they reigning/former AL champs and what a year last year was. You can’t count out anyone at this point.
More Cubs home runs and souvenirs galore at Wrigley. Plenty of game left!
4 runs in 5 2/3. I wonder when Arrieta’s last non-quality start was? Probably earlier this season, but it seems like he has been unhittable forever. But now 7-4 Cubbies! Sounds like the wind is crazy out there.
Is Mattingly messing with them already?
Munch:
:D:D:D
Congratulations - how soon is the Munchkin (I’m sure you must have been using that word, right?) expected?
I don’t see Utley. His appeal didn’t pan out?
Not in the starting lineup. Still eligible to play.
NICE catch by Price. I hate it, but it was NICE.
And the Dodgers are going to the bullpen for bottom of the third. We’re gonna see al the pitchers today. Errors too. Nerves are sharing the field it seems.
Cubs win! Cubs win!
This is probably really annoying to anyone who isn’t a Cubs fan, but heck…once a century? You can deal with us.
CUBS WIN!!!
I’m with ya! Cubs not only WIN, they’re on top of the Cardinals in this series!!
I look forward to seeing if we can beat the Red Sox’ fans’ record for quickest transition from lovable losers to insufferable winners.
Not likely. ESPN won’t be all over the Cubs like they were over the Red Sox. Plus, I really hope there isn’t a bombing at the Chicago Marathon
OK, gamesmanship won’t do anything for the Dodgers tonight.
No, totally different dynamic. For one thing, it’s the Cubs team that’s supposed to have been “lovable losers.”
Arrieta’s stuff was a little flat all night and he had trouble keeping the ball down. Good thing the Cubs hit 6 home runs. And I don’t know why Cards pitchers ever throw anything inside of about 4 inches off the outside corner because they seem to get that strike call every time.
Wow. 61 runs between the four playoff games today. Quite a slugfest.
Mattingly’s next to last game as a Dodger before a trip to Miami?
That’s up to Kershaw.
Ha! Wait, are you sure about that? Mattingly usually pulls Kershaw waaaay too early, like in the 6th or waaaay late in the 8th.
If he puts Baez in again, I’d fire him for that.
