MLB: The Playoffs

That’s why the Yankees are gone. But people who really don’t get the game are excited by the big hitting teams. It is better TV, but not better baseball.
Of course it is good to have a team capable of taking advantage of a pitchers mistakes and bad days. But all teams can hit .

He’s actually well known for this being his regular lunch. My office building is next to the building with his (US Bank building), and there’s a connecting skywalk between them. I’ve seen him probably a couple dozen times over the past 5 years, and he’s always been by himself. He’s usually been carrying a briefcase, and often a stack of folders/files in his arm, and I’m always tempted to knock them out and watch them spill across the floor like a middle-schooler. Alas, I’m a normal part of society and haven’t (and won’t) do it.

The Tigers are supposed to start Delmon Young who was re-activated when Maglio went down.

Sherzer’s pitches are up. that is not good.

I don’t see any way that ball could behave that way if it didn’t hit Martinez on the foot. Hope Leyland doesn’t get ejected.

ETA: I imagine he feels better now.

Raburn smacks a 3 run homer to take the lead.

Yeah, there’s no question that it was a hit by pitch. Didn’t matter anyway.

And here we are, 3-3 in the ninth, while we wait for the Tigers to tie the series, or for the Rangers to go up a resounding 2 games to none. Fucking A baseball is boring!

It’s taken me this long to decide who to root for. After that bottom of the ninth, I’ll root for Detroit.

That was a nail biter and some fine rescuing.

Was a walk-off grand slam in bottom of the 11th REALLY necessary?

My boys… Don’t get ANY better!!!

Wow, great win for Texas. I’m a Detroit fan, but that was nice for them.

Surely you’re not suggesting he should have held back.

Thanks Mahaloth.@ A real thriller despite anyone’s allegiance.

Well, all he needed was a good sac fly.

Wow! Walk off slam. Good hitting wins again!

Yeah but this way he also shut “Never yet had one” Buck up.

Milwaukee’s fielding has really let them down in Game 2.

I’m liking what I’m seeing so far. Based on last night, however, I won’t be comfortable with this lead until the Cardinals score about 15 more runs.

Here’s Fielder, and here’s LaRussa.

They’re getting there.
