    Yay! You’re back!!

Oh my OG!! He IS Reeeeeaaaaalllll!!!

I have a set of FIFTY glitter glue pens I bought a couple years ago to make stockings for all my friends. I am incredibly familiar with that little splotch of glitter that ends up on the carpet, and all I can say is that you’re wicked lucky none of it got in your hair. I, naturally, was not so lucky.

First off, Happy Happy to the birthday kids!

Uh, I have to also vote to veto the plaid pants.

I feel much better today! I went home early yesterday, and stopped at the drugstore for some anti-diarrheal medicine. I felt better about 5 or 6. Funny how that happens, huh?

I felt so good I made some shrimp etouffee. I sorta followed Emiril’s recipe on the Food Network’s website. It was totally yummy! Yay me!

Today is my co-worker Eric’s last day. A sad day in the neighborhood. He’s been really great - a mentor of sorts. We had a cake party at 10:15. Then we had a two hour lunch at Pappasito’s. (I had gotten him a card for everyone to sign. They all liked it! Not too sappy.)

And there will be after hours drinking and story-telling at Baker Street Pub tonight. Fun times!

Somehow, not too much work got accomplished today. Hmm…

I’ve got a fire going and a chicken rotissing. Not in the same place. The fire is in the family room fireplace and the chicken is in the rotisserie in the kitchen. The dishwasher is loaded with all the stuff that was all over the counter and in the sink. I do need to put sheets on the bed - I stripped it when I got home and that set of sheets is in the dryer now, probably done.

And tomorrow, I get to glaze my first batch of pottery for this session. With luck, I’ll locate all my pieces before I leave class. I honestly don’t remember whatall I made this time around - I just know there should be 17 pieces. And after they’re all glazed and I pick out the ones for family gifts, the great MMP suck-up will commence! Just in case you forgot…

<snerk> in bed! <snerk>

I didn’t think adult Malteses got to be more than 3 pounds.

I’m thinking that an oxyacetelyne torch would be a good place to start.

Glitter glue pens? I’m not allowed to use a paintbrush in the house. I can’t imagine the damage I’d do with a glitter glue pen.

Have a good weekend, y’all.

Mika, how do you think us menfolks feel? If we aim wrong, or have an errant… mishap, we have something a lot more embarrassing to clean up than glitter.

Here are today’s pants, which are decidedly old mannish. These, swampy are the Old Man Pants which I was talking about the other day.

And I have brown socks. Maybe I should just apply for an AARP card now.

I just popped the annoying zit on my chin! Woo!

No, it wasn’t a terribly exciting or notable zit, but this isn’t the Exciting and Notable forum, now is it?

Also… (TMI warning)…

I have a zit in a Very Sensitive Place. It is making my Very Sensitive Place not feel so good.

Yah!!! Confetti!!! I love confetti! And glitter. I’m not allowed to have glitter glue pens.

Good on you, Rue! Saving a parvo puppy is an accomplishment! That is such a nasty, nasty disease.

Smoking a pot of coffee. Ya’ll are gonna get me in trouble yet.

Heh, yes, that’s exactly how it squirted out.

taxi78cab, TM freakin’I!

OMG!!! I can’t believe it’s Welby! I was beginning to think he was a figment of my imagination.

Okay, all the navy bean soup fixings have been purchased and now I need to start fixing it.

It’s still freakin’ cold here. My hands were bright red from being out in the cold. Where are my gloves, one might ask. Well, one would have to find them. I can’t find the damn things anywhere. Oh, I found three, but none of them are mates. How stupid is that?

Well, I better get cookin’. The soup takes awhile and it’s already 3:04 pm.

If God had a really weird sense of humor, welby’s reappearance could be seen as a holiday miracle. Where the heck ya been! Great to see you back and I am looking forward to the Saga of welby on Monday. Next week will be a largely absent swampy week folks. I have to go to Detroit on Tuesday for work and won’t be back until Friday night. If there’s one of those internet check on your mail and stuff thingy’s at the hotel, I might have a chance to pop in a time or two.

donkeybear now, see, those just look like normal everyday pants, which is a good thing. However, that shirt, could have used an ironing. Just sayin’ is all. You know how I am about shirts after all.

gotty nuttin’ is worse than federal audits, I’ll grant you that. Still, these folks from the state today were as annoying as hell! I’m so glad that got over finally. They were there almost all dang day. Also, see, kinda sorta, part of what I do for a living involves auditing. I do this for the accreditation organization that provides accreditation for places that provide services to people with disabilities. It’s a peer review sorta thing though. That’s why I’m going to Detroit next week. It’s also how I got to meet Taters and Bumba and picu and a buncha other wunnerful Dopers in May when I was in Seattle so it ain’t always all bad. They even named our get together after me: swampfest. I was all verklempt. picu even painted me a purty picture of Seattle which occupies a place of honor on top of my puter desk at home.

Rue yay for the good stuff and as for the sucky stuff, well, we have to deal with that with animals sometimes. Still, I bet you pretty much like your job. How could a job dealing with doggies and kitties be bad as a whole, right? I’m kinda disappointed about there being no stuff poppin’ out of dogs or cats this week but they can’t all be winner weeks now can they?

ACBG brought pizza over for supper and I’ve been kinda heavy in the beer as a stress reliever, so if there are any horrid typos and such in this post, get over it. So There! :stuck_out_tongue:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SCL & ZELIE!!!

Wow, and welby! I don’t think he’s been here since I de-lurked. And that’s been a while now. Which reminds me of dangergene, who hasn’t been seen in quite a while, either. (Oh, and swampy, I’m pretty sure God has a weird sense of humor…)

Hi, Rue! Sounds like a pretty busy workplace you’ve got there!

cb, may I register one more vote against the plaid. They really do look like my Grandad’s pants. And he’s been gone for more than 10 years now. (What? We get one vote per day, don’t we?)

Glitter glue used to be my niece’s favorite, so I got pretty good at it. But I’d probably require remedial glitter glue lessons by now.

Not sure why I’m so energy-filled today. Maybe it’s leftover caffeine from the last two days.

Had my first online orders show up today. Yay!

There are lots of holiday shopping opportunities tomorrow in non-mall settings. I’m thinking of venturing out. And also to the Franklin Park Conservatory where I want to get Mom something from the gift shop. They’re having an exhibit about chocolate that sounds like fun. Also, their poinsettias are probably out by now and they’re always pretty. Hmmm…

Happy Friday, everyone!!!

GT

You’re not supposta look at the shirt! I can’t just have a picture of the pants without shirt, though, or it looks like I’m photographing my crotch. (And I don’t own an iron. But the silly fabric that has the buttonholes gets scrunchy every time I wash the shirt. Drying doesn’t fix it, and yes, I hang any shirt that has buttons up in the closet.)

And the problem with this is…

What? No one’s stopped by yet this morning?

I’ve done exciting stuff like surf the Dope, read the paper, have chicken soup for breakfast, and start to empty the dishwasher. I’ve decided that it’s too cold to go out just yet (low twenties Fahrenheit) and I really really need to not be lazy, so I’m going to do some clean-up, head to the libriary, and then maybe do some shopping. Maybe.

GT

I’m off to work at Wal-Mart. Someone keep my seat warm, because I don’t know how long it’s gonna be before I get back.

snerk

Y’all should have been here for breakfast. Chorizo, bacon, eggs scrambled with jalapeno and tomato, hash browns and a stack of tortillas.

'Erp.
There’s snow on the ground and 2-4" inces more by morning. Got to get gas for the snow blower.

I was not allowed to use to computer yesterday. Mr. Lissar was on it when I woke up, and then we scuttled off to Mass and then to grocery shopping with Driving Husband, and when we got back home at about four, Mr. Lissar played Black and White for nine hours.

So I wasn’t here to wish everyone happy birthdays.

It just occurs to me that I have less than a month to make a wedding dress. In the Continuing Saga of the wedding I’m involved in, the bride has okayed the dress pattern and mockup I’ve made, but has gained an undetermined amount of weight.

This means I can’t cut the damn thing out because I don’t know if it’ll still fit, and we have to re-fit the mockup all over again. Two weeks before the wedding. One and a half weeks before Christmas. And then make it in two weeks.

Would someone else like to do it for me?

I still have to buy my damn bridesmaid’s dress. Maybe later this week. Oh, shoot me.
