is that what I did? I must remember not to post after taking my vicoden I could always bore all of you with tales of my convention
Thank GAAAWWD it’s Friday! It can’t be over too soon. I’ve been wrasslin with a very anal/drama queen account executive who is out of the country and needs a photographer in Chicago for Monday morning. :dubious: I manage to find one who actually can make the assignment and this AE is questioning whether or not the photog is any good. Well, how the hell hard can it be to take pictures of two guys shaking hands??? Actually, one of them is the president of the Dominican Republic and another one is “da mahr” so I can cut her a little slack.
feline mater, I know Aiken. I’ve actually been there, though it’s been over 20 years.
swampy, purty metal aigs.
gt, purty metal appliances.
I did not watc Survivor last night. I think I’m done with it cause I can’t work up enough enthusiasm to tune in.
Now I’m off to check out mbg’s day.
Tupug
Sounds good.
I’m with sean. Spill, Telperien.
I’m a little groggy from sleeping pills, but I slept! I’m all happy. At 6:30 we’ll all be in the car and headed for Attacks Husband’s farm. There will be many weapons, much movie-watching, and Quasi-Daughter will fuss. It should be fun. There’s some archery targets and a lot of spaces where I can make fire. Do I want to take my drop spindle? So many decisions.
I’m in charge of the food (of course) so I should start packing it and taking stuff out of the freezer. Pulled pork, cinnamon buns, black pepper ham bread, eggs, mozzarella, milk, butter, rum…
We got the eldest step-duaghter-to-be a kit to make those for Christmas. Of course, she hasn’t started in on them yet. Maybe we can have some for the next Easter season.
They are real purty, though.
rose stories about conventions are always good.
If he was that cute, they wouldn’t let him near that many teenage girls.
Not to worry Bobbio the aigs are at best faux Pysanky aigs, mass produced in China, according to the boxes.
I got Chips Ahoy Chunky chawklit chip cookies! YAY!
So, I don’t want to work today. Thus far, in order to avoid working, I’ve had conversations about the setup of a burger-eating contest, the fact that everytime you eat a hot dog, somebody’s got to tell you what’s in it, and the possibility of reworking our whole website to make it funny so people are more inclined to buy stuff from us. Or something.
Whatever. Don Juana work. Aw, hell. That should probably be Dona (with the tilde over the n, which I can’t do) Juana. Am I right, Nava? I think I might be confusing my Spanish and Italian, but I’m pretty sure I’ve got it.
I seem to be somewhat all over the place today. Does it show?
And I just found out the jacket I bought at Target last year is actually real leather, and therefore I shouldn’t have worn it in the rain today. Oops. Whoda thunk I bought a real leather jacket at Target?
But let’s remember the important thing here, people–It’s Friday. nods wisely
And Rosie, what are you doing in Parsippany?
It’s a Sweet Adelines conference - I suppose I’ll have fun when I get there, but if this year’s is as unorganized as last year’s, well, I may just be bored to tears.
Have a good weekend all, I’ll check in when I get home Sunday eve - try not to miss me too much.
Good morning one and and all and a very happy Friday to you as well.
We ended up downloading the Norton anti-virus because I didn’t see cello guy’s (yes that’s your nick for me) post until after we had done it. Anyway, tons o’ virus’s and spyware, even though we had stuff that was supposed to stop the spyware. At any rate, the 'puter is stull fubarred and it will need to go to the shop. Hubby went into Windows and deleted files! Oy vay! So, now the cd/dvd drive doesn’t work AT all. Also, I wanted to make sure our pictures were saved so I was trying to share them with the other computer. Normally, this is not a problem, but last night it wouldn’t work. Hubby will take the 'puter to the shop today. Great, more money I wasn’t planning on spending.
Those of you with cheap gas prices are lucky. We’re still paying around $2.75 a gallon here. Also, biblio, four bucks for a pack of ciggies is cheap to me. We’re paying over $5.00 a pack here. Yes, I know I need to quit. No, I’m not quite ready.
gt, nice appliances. I want a new dishwasher. I have to pay off my new washer and dryer first, though.
I couldn’t look at the aigs, Swampy because that link takes me to a a “gaming site” which is unauthorized here at work.
Work is total craziness. I’m TAHRED. My shoulders and neck are killing me. I have spent way too much time hunched over my computer this week.
Tomorrow is Mr. Taters 43rd birthday. I guess I’ll have to be extry nice to him and all that jazz. We’re supposed to go out to dinner with some friends, but I don’t know if that’s still happening. Sunday we’re going to MIL’s for dinner, unless she’s not feeling up to it.
Yesterday, she had a breast biopsy and today she’s going in for a chest x-ray. She has spots on her lungs and they’ve grown in size. Additionally, now there’s a lump or something in her remaining breast, thus the biopsy. She had breast cancer years ago and had one of her breasts removed because of it. Anyway, think good thoughts for her, please. I don’t think the hubby could bear it if he lost her to cancer as well. Cancer is what killed his father 10 years ago. Frankly, I couldn’t bear it if she went that way either. She is a most excellent MIL. I love her dearly.
Tel, spill the beans.
I’ve seen men cry. I’ve made men cry. My husband has cried. The men I made cry at work were from when I ran the Officer Weight Control program. I had to weigh and tape them and some of them had to be put on the Fat Boy Program. It made them sad. It sucked when that happened.
I’m in a bit of a quandry regarding my TV watching choices next week. I have become hooked on Grey’s Anatomy. The new season starts Thursday, I think. But, I think Jericho also starts on Thursday. What to do? What to do? I don’t have TiVo.
I need to work now. I’ll try to pop in again later.
If Jericho lasts, you’ll be able to watch it during the summer reruns. Next week at 8 will be the last Grey’s episode of the second season, the one where Denny the Magical Heart Patient dies during the hot steaming sex encounter between Derek and Meredith followed immediately by the first episode of season three at 9.
Taters I found another pitcher of some aigs you can link to. As I said earlier the ones hangin’ out here are faux Pysankys.
Oh, and bein’ as I’ve met Mr. Taters and all…

Awww, thanks **Swampy. ** I’ll be sure to pull this up when I get home and show it to the hubby. It’ll really make him smile!
Purty aigs! I say you should swipe some and stuff them full of GOOD chocolates and mail them to your favorite MMPer’s. Just a suggestion…
Say, make sure you include in your new position description that you need to travel up here to the Great Pacific Northwest! You know you miss us!
Sean, I’m thinkin’ that I’ll be watching Jericho on re-runs. I’m NOT going miss Grey’s Anatomy.
I finally bought yarn last night for my international gift exchanges. Boring navy yarn for the purse and purty yarn for the scarf. While I’m at it, here is a picture of one of my new knitting bags.
And here is my new cube, so you can visualize me typing away, and a picture of the hideous green hallway on my new floor. When we moved in 5 years ago, all of the floors were painted green. People screamed bloody murder, so they painted swatches on one of the floors and had people vote. The floors who voted got a pretty [del]ugly[/del] periwinkle blue, and the apathetic floors kept the green. A fitting punishment for voter apathy, dontcha think? I think they liked the green because they match the red-eyed gators on the chairs in the lunchroom.
The metal eggs is purty. I was thinking ugly galvalized aluminum things, but those are nice.
The nice appliances are nice, too. We’re supposed to be adding on to our teeny kitchen, which will mean getting rid of our ancient appliances and getting new ones. I’m so excited. The holes are dug for the footings, and stuff is in place for the work, but it’s slow going when you do it yourself.
I want that fridge with three doors. It’s got the fridge on top with two doors that open up real wide (looks like a side-by-side, but it’s a big wide fridge) and the freezer on the bottom.
I think I want a glass cooktop stove. I really like gas, but I like the look of the smooth cooktop. I want the oven to be in the wall, too. We’re on a tight budget, so we’ll have to see how it all shakes out.
I paid $2.42 for gas last night. Not too bad.
I love my smooth top range. Love it, love it, love it. I know gas is supposed to be better for cooking, but I don’t have a gas hook-up there. The glass top is easy to clean and the Ceramabryte keeps it looking new.
$2.42 for gas? Wow, that’s nice. I can hope, I guess, that we’ll soon see those prices here.
This week has been so crazy that I’ve completely missed the MMP so I have no idea what’s been going on with everybody! Hope your weeks have all been going well. Good luck, congrats, I’m sorry, feel better, etc. to whoever needs it. Hopefully next week won’t be so insane!!
Home early - yay! We had some goings-on at work all week involving meetings and interviews and inspections and stuff, and we done real good, so the big boss gave us all an hour off. I stopped by the post office on the way home, and now I’m relaxing before heading downstairs to do some laundry and play with some clay.
I have nothing more exciting to add - how pathetic… Glad it’s Friday, looking forward to the weekend, and that’s pretty much it.
I want chocolate. duh
Holy crap. It’s FRIDAY.
Why did no one tell me this? I swear to all that is holy, I completely lost track of the day.
:smack:
Sounds like someone is working *waaaaaay * too hard!
Just checkin’ in to say, Ima go home now. Next time y’all here from me I’ll be in shorts and a tshirt sittin’ in front of my puter at home. Keep that image in mind.
