Although it’s above freezing outside now and a bit warmer inside, I’m still cuddling Nelson for his body heat. ![]()
Short day, alot of the staff didn’t show up. A lot of the drivers didn’t show up. It’s warn so things are melt, but will refreeze after dark.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TATERS

Not a bad idea.
Glad Lucy’s OK. But you might need to add some vodka to deal with the grape amount of stress you just had.
Cabin fever?
Happiness is a warm puppy.
Doggio Stay safe. My sister said you all had two inches of ice this weekend.
True, neither one’s been allowed outside in weeks, for various reasons. Weather here’s better than in a lot of the US, but at 12:15pm, it’s only just hit 50 degrees, so I don’t want to leave the door open for them.

It 19F outside and I just went out and checked. That is cold. It is also snowing which is very pretty.
I checked the weather back in AZ and it is in the mid 60s and clear. I am so happy to finally be able to live in a place with seasons ![]()
I’m really torn right now. Every year Mom and I do a mystery piece by Kathy Rees. We use different colors, she likes deep jewel tones and I like spring colors, but we are doing the same design and same class at the same time even if we are across the country.
But now one of my sisters sold all of Mom’s stitching stuff so she won’t be able to do it this year. I seriously do enjoy these classes but a lot of it was doing them with Mom and I’m on the fence about signing up this year. I have until May to decide, that gives me time to think about it.
A lot of the drivers didn’t show up.
I am not seeing any delivery trucks on the highway. The traffic has mostly been line workers, utility trucks and idiots in their 4X4’s out to play in the mud and snow.
I’m still cuddling Nelson for his body heat.
Yeah, and we all believe that’s the only reason you have for cuddling your puppers.
Daughter and SIL are frozen in unless they were able to coordinate with neighbors to dig out.
Driveway or street? I saw our cat sitter out in their driveway with a shovel, but she gave up pretty quickly. Hubs is talking about getting a snow shovel AGAIN. That’s not going to happen, no snow shovels or ladders in our lives anymore. (We do have a leaf blower, if he starts getting too stir-crazy I’ll suggest he goes out and blows off our sidewalks.)
I found her sleeping on it and had to roust her,
It sounds like she needs her own fleece lined pullover! Put a silicon mat under the fountain, it will help protect your floor and will also deaden the pumps vibrations. You can’t hear it, but they can.
now sitting waiting for back spasms to die down
Don’t work until the spasms start, take a break first.
I’ve just applied for a videographer position.
I think you would be a wonderful videographer, you have so much attention to detail and take good care of your tools.
Plus, don’t want to be kneeling on the cold, cold ice while I try to figure it out.
Isn’t it nice to be at the stage of your life when you can fix your problems with your bank card! I hope it isn’t too costly.
So glad you mentioned this, it is so very, very important to reinforce the positive
That poor man is probably under so much stress and is probably getting a lot of hate mail. Local folks taking the time to tell him he’s doing good probably means much more than getting a supportive email from someone in a red state.
Well, I see that Nellie is typing so I will give the floor over to her. Have great afternoons everyone.
Driveway or street?
It’s a driveway shared by 3 houses - a semicircle that accesses all of their parking pads. But it’s completely shaded so they can’t count on any solar meltage. I suggested a flamethrower, but they’re illegal in MD!

Mrs. Nott doesn’t want to listen to the news, and I can understand that. I can’t swear off entirely, though. Sometimes, I switch it on in my phone, which comes through my hearing aids. So, while the home stereo is doing Sirius XM’s Big Easy N’awslins channel, I’m listening to NPR while typing to you. Look at me, multitasking! Woo-hoo!
Mrs. Nott rummaged through some boxes and found some cough drops from the last cold. I’m feeling maybe 6% better than yesterday. Better is better, so I’ll take it.
Late afternoon update. Have exercised and obtained a GIANT Club Sub from Jersey MIke’s , since it will be the main meal of the day. Temperature crested at 27F and is now down to 22F heading to a low of 9F tonight. I am inside and have no further reason to be anywhere else (at least until tomorrow).
Piper, your call, but -16C is still only +3F and by my math that’s still pretty damn cold…
Herald, thanks for the brother story, it’s rather amazing what humans can adapt too.
Flyboy, best wishes on the job application.
Nettie, sometimes we get irritated for what seems to be no reason..I guess cats are like us in that way…
JtC, I haz a sad that your Mom doesn’t have her stitching stuff anymore.
Hubs is talking about getting a snow shovel AGAIN. That’s not going to happen, no snow shovels or ladders in our lives anymore.
How about flamethrowers?
And time for Pardon the Interruption on ESPN< the only TV I truly make time for. Take care.
Hubs is talking about getting a snow shovel AGAIN. That’s not going to happen, no snow shovels or ladders in our lives anymore.
Somewhere nearby there is a teenager who’d love $20 for shoveling out your walk or whatever.
Hubby is just about the last person mmp-adjacent who should ever again have a snow shovel in his paws. Wasn’t he just doing a round of doctoring and stents for scary cardiac stuff?
I think you would be a wonderful videographer,

There isn’t! Seriously, the only young people in the neighborhood is my 14 year old cat-sitter and a boy who looks younger than her who lives down by the river. All the rest of the neighbors are old farts which really helped us fit in ![]()
Here’s the Videographer job from my résumé.
Like I said
Fingers crossed!
Mooom, I forgot this earlier. If you are in the mood to bake, make cookies. Eat a couple while they are warm and then freeze the rest of them. Frozen cookies are easier to resist and should last until you can send them home with your grands.
How about flamethrowers?
Flame throwers are legal in WV and you can buy them at Lowe’s. Hubs would probably have much more fun with a flame thrower than a snow shovel anyhow. I think I’ll check them out, his birthday is next month. I’ll bet there aren’t a lot of men around who get flamethrowers for their 75th birthday!
Howdy Y’all! The RDOS has been strong today. The most productive things accomplished were makin’ sup, bringin’ the neighbor’s and our biiiiig trash cans all the way back up the driveway to where they stay, and goin’ to the mailbox. Outside of that nappage, day drinkin’ and starin’ at the teevee happened. ‘Tis 34 Amurrkin out with a wind chill of 22, so glad to be inside and warm.
Pulley glad Lucy is OK. Hope her humans aren’t too stiff and sore today.
FlyBoy appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re the gig.
Coppertone stayin’ inside sounds like a wise decision.
VanGo hope the shovelin’ wasn’t too bad on the back.
Looks like a few of us are under the weather. Feel better soonest!
Snow day again tomorrow! woo-hoo!
Up from naptime, having an Old Fashioned and cheeseburger with fries and corn.
Doggio Stay safe. My sister said you all had two inches of ice this weekend.
Mostly sleet. Tomorrow will be bad, because everything melted is gonna refreeze. They cancelled Twilight and Midnight at Greensboro and Mebane, so tomorrow all we’re gonna do is run the Air and go home.

Warm January would be nice. And welcome to the MMP!
idiots in their 4X4’s out to play in the mud and snow.
I got tailgated by an idiot in an Escalade on the way into work.
I suggested a flamethrower, but they’re illegal in MD!
It’s only illegal if you get caught.

Evening all. Have finished off the GIANT sammich from Jersey Mike’s, it was good and the turkey, ham and bacon provided the days’ protein, but might have been a bit too much, think I’ll just stick with the regular sammich now. Gym scale showed 199.4lbs today so as long as I stay between 198-205lbs I’ll be happy. Schools are back in session tomorrow in the area, so the stores (and traffic) should be busier. Despite being in bed until nearly 8am today, I’m feeling pretty tired and may head off to bed early. We’ll see if there is anything interesting on the Tee-Vee.
Flyboy. looks like a pretty strong resume to me. And I would love to see a picture of Hubs with his flamethrower…but if so, be sure you buy yourself a heavy-duty fire extinguisher…
RivkahChaya, do we have a MMP name for you yet? I can’t think of one outside of “RC” and I’m sure some of our other creative minds here can do better.
And that’s all, folks. Catch y’all tomorrow. Temperature is down to 17F now, but the space heater has the room up to 77F, so I’m a happy man.
And I would love to see a picture of Hubs with his flamethrower

Sounds like I got out of Nashville just in time to miss this.
Appendages crossed on the job flyboy.
