Well, if people would buy more stamps, they could afford to fix the floor…
Where did my Wednesday go?
Howdy Y’all! Home from irk. Poke roast is all warmed up, mac 'n cheese and green beans all ready and cornbread muffins in the oven. Gonna be a good dindin! OYKW is back so I have adult supervision again.
Bolding mine. Should one crochet while drivin’?
Time to get dindin readied. I’s hongry so we be eatin’ earlyish.
Laterz!
No, swampy, I don’t work while driving myself. All knitting and crocheting takes place in the passenger seat. Wiseacre!
We’re going out for not-too-bad Chinese for supper. I’ve had a hankerin’ for several days, and I decided today was the day.
I think it ran away with mine.
Cheating Wednesdays. <grumble>
I always want to buy stamps when I go to the PO but I have to keep reminding myself that I buy them by the roll and it’s highly unusual for me to run out. I nearly bought another roll today when I went to mail a package. Glad I remembered at the last minute! Two rolls is about 5 years worth of stamps for me.
When you don’t buy stamps, Baby Jesus falls through the hole in the Post Office floor.
That’s the benefit of not living in the boonies. My POs are not trailers and don’t have holes in the floor. They’re real, honest to goodness buildings. Actually, they’re quite nice buildings.
I swear my asexual villain is hitting on my asexual protagonist. He’s tempting me to make him say something dirty in Greek. He needs to stop it; that’s highly inappropriate.
I thought you were writing pr0n…
Different story. I’m currently working on three things. This one will have no sex (although the villain is going to just about get off during a lightning storm. Unless I decide not to write that scene.)
Hungry.
There are 3 honest-to-goodness brick PO buildings fairly close to me - one in Mechanicsville, one in Leonardtown, and one in Chaptico. And the one in Helen *is *a building - it’s just an old, rickety building that may not stand up long enough to be bulldozed…
Chinese was good, and as a surprise, they served us some watermelon as dessert - very yum! The portions are quite large, so I’ve got lunch for tomorrow. And for now, I’m going to don a bathrobe and crochet the night away!

MWAH!!**
Brought more stuff over to the house, and…all the gates were open, including to the back house. We do not have the keys to the back house, yet; the cousin is supposed to come down from Washington, clear out the house, and we get the keys. House is still locked, but there was a shed back there that was literally nailed/screwed shut, and that is wide open. I have no idea if anything is missing.
The washer and dryer goes OUTSIDE the house, as does every one else’s on the block, apparantly. I have to wonder if I’m going to feel comfortable with that if I keep finding gates open. MrTao: “But we’ll have a dog!” Yeah, one that’s the size of our cat. I’d happily send the cat out on attack; he’d eat whoever came through just to see what they tasted like.
What? you finished your leftovers from Sunday already? I got 3 lunches out of mine.
Irked, came home, making dinner(lemon pepper chicken thighs with rice), since the Dinner fairy got Chopped.
A boozeless Rooskie?
I got three other folks who feel entitled to be fed!
Lamb chops
Egg noodles with caramelized onions
Chopped green salad
Not hungry any more!
So how do I sign up for this entitlement program?

Just be careful of what you write where!
I fell into a maze of layers of contracts, politics, food service intrigue and pop-fueled territorial pissing matches. Never had I thought picking restaurant brands could be so challenging.
To make the long story shorter, the evil Chick-Fil-A at my office isn’t really a CFA, but is really just a licensed appearance of the brand operated by the cafeteria. And we can’t have Taco Bell because the soda taps have Coke and Pepsi. We can’t have McDonalds because the place is not open on weekends, and no Five Guys because they just cost too much, even if they are delicious.
Yeah, I wanna know, too.
That sounds like some messy food service, gotti. The cafeteria where I work is managed by one of the big services (Aramark, maybe). in addition to their own stuff, they have a rotation of local restaurants (mostly not chains) who serve a limited menu. It works out quite nicely.
Brother and I went to see Jim Gaffigan tonight at the State Fair. He was really funny. I like him because he doesn’t make fun of people (except himself) and is really quite clean. I wasn’t expecting to laugh quite as hard as I did, but..well…pretty much laughed my way through his whole show.
Off to sleepy bye now.
Hugs all.
