Ok, not really, it’s raining. It’s been so long since we’ve had rain that I just had to run around saying THE SKY IS FALLING! THE SKY IS FALLING! for a minute. I like to liven things up at work every once in a while.
Mika, I can forgive everything but the Key Lime Pie. You almost make up for with the cheesecake preference, but not quite. That’s actually my name on a couple other sites: keylimepie. :dubious:
Ellen, can you have the tornado Fed-Ex’d to Orlando?
I’m in waiting mode here. My budget requests are being mulled and considered by the senior admin people today- weighed against anticipated revenue and the like. At this point I know most of my “wish list” items are probably out, and somehow I have to break it to my staff that the extra clerical position we need won’t be coming through either.
I have two items to write up for next Monday’s board meeting, depending on what comes out of the budget meeting they’re having today. Grrr. That means I’ll have to be AT the meeting, and I hate board meetings.
On top of that, I have a dispatcher having a meltdown over her ex-husband, a supervisor very upest with me over her Performance Review, a bus monitor that allegedly smacked a kid yesterday, and a 2nd grade teacher that can’t understand why she can’t call at 8:30 to request a bus for a field trip tomorrow.
On second thought Ellen, pack me, I’ll go to Disney, I could use the break.
Good morning all, and a Happy Tuesday for everyone. There, doesn’t that feel better already?
Not much going on in Spats-land this morning. Although, yesterday I finally got the hardcopy of Amsterdam’s acceptance letter. I sent them an email advising them that I had only just recieved it and asking when I should expect the financial and housing information, because I’m going to accept as soon as I make sure I can pay for it.
Anaamika - not human. Got it.
Don’t worry Mika, we love you just the same anyway.
I went to Disneyworld 11 years ago, which means I was turning 12. In fact, if I recall correctly, I was there for my 12th birthday, which was nice. Going to Disneyworld is an awesome birthday present for a 12-year old boy, lemme tell ya. My sister was 8 at the time, so she had a blast too. My poor little brother, however, was just over a year old, so while I’m sure he had fun, he didn’t remember any of it. So my mom (who wanted to go back anyway) took him recently, he’s now 11. For the record, my two siblings and I have very close birthdays: March 29, May 14, and June 29. First one to guess which one is mine wins a cookie.
… I’m gonna go buy some Peeps. Chocolate ones, if possible.
Spats you were born on March 29th, and you’re actually not twenty-three but fifty-six years old and you’ve made a career out of going to RPI. Did I guess right? What kind of cookie do I get?
Now wait just a minute…there are chocolate Peeps!?!
How come no-one told me about this?
My manager is not happy that I wrote a letter. Now the details of the event she related to me have changed a bit. Hmmm. Think I’ll keep pen and paper handy in future.
Off to do stuff–I DO have a life, ya know!

You get the special cookie - it’s green and fuzzy and is beginning to master the English language.
rigs, unfortunately my optimism got the best of both of us: there are no chocolate peeps. BUT THERE SHOULD BE. And what’s worse, the campus convenience store didn’t have any peeps at all. However, they did have Cadbury creme eggs, on which I stocked up.
Don’t like Cadbury Creme Eggs.
runs away
Hello all. Didja miss me? Didja wonder if I’d been hauled off to jail?
In case some of you didn’t read last week’s MMP over the weekend, my 'puter was quarantined. They swooped in here, read me a bunch of legalise and said there was something illegal on my 'puter. I was all
. I was worried about my job and just generally freaked out. So, I got to stew all weekend over it and up until about 11:00 a.m. yesterday. I lost seven pounds over the weekend because I was so stressed.
At any rate, they found the problem, I’m in the clear, and my 'puter is up and running. Apparently, my computer detected a virus and said it cleaned it up. A Trojan virus. This is apparently what kicked off alarm bells. Also, supposedly, XP service pack 2 wasn’t on my computer. But you see, it was, just not installed correctly. All updates and stuff like are supposed to pushed to our 'puters automatically. Somehow, mine was screwed up. At any rate, my 'puter is fixed, all is good, and now I can work again. I’ll probably put the seven pounds I lost right back on too.
Not that I want to gain that weight back. I seriously need to lose some. Only, the way I lost it this weekend is not the way to do it.
Let’s see now, on to address various aspects of this week’s MMP:
-
Peeps are an abomination to man. They are GROSS!
-
I like some pies, my all time favorites are key lime pie, sour cream lemon, and strawberry/rhubarb. Certain apples pies are tasty too. I’m not a huge fan of pecan pie.
-
I love cheesecake. Cheesecake is pure heaven. ANY kind of cheesecake is good. I cannot be restrained in the presence of cheesecake. I make a damn fine cheesecake.
-
Shoes. I want new shoes, but don’t have money for extras now. The shoes I have are in fine condition, I’m just sick of them.
-
FCM, I’m glad you and the hubby made it back and forth safely and the visit was nice.
That’s all I have time for now. I must work because now it’s officially time to start.
Runs after her, pelting here with jelly beans, chocolate chips and candy corn.
How’d I get a double post there? I didn’t hit submit twice(?)
anyhoo, off to pick out cabinets etc.
Ooo, I do like candy corn.
And if you like circus peanuts, well, then there’s no hope for you whatsoever.

Nope, they taste like cardboard to me.
How about Sweet Tarts? I like those.

: picks the candy corn out of the mess and eats it :
HEY! Can’t you see, I’m busy here?
But see now, where pie-to-eat is not very good, pie-on-face is fun! : grabs a big lump of frosting and throws it back at **Spats ** :
Can I get some extra chunky milk to go with my special cookie?

Swampy, I had some of that in my fridge this morning! Too bad I threw it away. If I’d known…
You shouldn’t throw extra chunky milk away mika. It goes good with whatever that is in that tupperware container in the back of the fridge. The blue one, yeah, that one on the right. Nuke it first and it’ll be ok to eat.
That is IT.
The next person who disrespects a pie is gonna get it!
I mean it!
