Who handles name changes now?
It seemed like TubaDiva was the go to admin for name changes. From the FAQ:
Q: I want to change my user name.
A: Contact any administrator by email ( TubaDiva@aol.com, CKDextHavn@aol.com, Gaudere@gmail.com, lynnbodoni@hotmail.com, gfactor999@gmail.com) and request a change.
That really brings home how much turnover there’s been lately.
I agree whole-heartedly. Thanks you, Dex and TubaDiva, for all your years of service, which have made this place what it is.
Twix and Gukumatz, shorter tenures, but thank you as well for putting up with us all with wit and good humour.

Really, tho - welcome! The loss of some of these long-time mods is a bit shocking but boy howdy, do I understand how rough a job it can be.

I believe that Gaudere is currently the mod with the longest service (aside from Ed). She was a moderator by 2000, if not earlier. Then samclem (6/25/2004) and tomndebb (12/24/2004).
I am a bit shocked to find I am now in fourth place, having started 6/24/2007.
I think moderator-years are like dog-years. Each moderator-year counts as seven human years.
I’ve been a moderator on a board with far less traffic than the SDMB and it is indeed one of those thankless jobs. Thanks to those moving on and to those dumb enough to pick up the yoke!
2011 here. I was shocked to see I’m now the longest served one in MPSIMS. That was a pretty big surprise to me.
