‘Permanips’… I like that.
As for Cam, was that Cam opening the can or was that Fizbo?

It’s the throw away little lines that always get me. When Cam and Mitchell were asking whether or not someone should chase the hypothetical hit and run driver, Gloria nonchalantly responds “Oh, I chase the people every time”. Exactly how often does this happen to her, anyway?
Gloria is the queen of the excellent throwaway lines (most of them relating to her growing up in Colombia).
Lots of accidents when Gloria is walking near cars.
For example in another recent episode–“In my country it is wife, then mistress, and then dog–dog is always last!”
Yep, that women should not be allowed near men operating heavy machine unless she has a burqa on.
I’m not usually a fan of toddlers on TV, but I loved Lily’s cause “Dads are fighting.” line. That was freaking adorable. :o
Watching Mitchell chase the bad guy was hilarious. If ever there was an unmanly way to chase someone; this was it!
It was both. Fizbo defended Mitchell at the gas station, but Cam was all “I got this” with his baseball bat when they thought there was someone in Lily’s room.
I think I’m going to finally give up on this show.
I’ve been watching mainly because I like the interaction of Ed Ed O’Neill and the kid. But the rest are predictable sitcom tropes where you see everything coming a mile away.
Of course they were in the wrong theater at the beginning. Well, duh! Decades old stale sitcom crap.
And the “accent” of Sofía Vergara keeps getting worse and worse. She is driving that pony into the ground and then some.
Throw in David Cross and I’m done.
I’m pretty sure that’s how she really speaks.
She’s been in the US long enough she would have a mild accent by now. She does use it when she’s on talk shows, etc. But it is so clearly faked and exaggerated it’s ridiculous. Also compare it to the start of the series. There’s been a lot of Hollywood insider talk about that.
Compare to Jayne Mansfield and Cindi Lauper who also affected strange ways of speaking on screen and in “real life” if there were cameras around.
So if it walks like a Colombian, talks like a Colombian, then chances are…it’s a Colombian.
A hawt Colombian*. I can deal with that.
Real or fake, I don’t care, I like the way she talks.
I don’t think it’s any more fake than most people who are able to change registers. Most of us have varying degrees of “strongness” we can apply to our accents depending on our audience.
