Speaking only for myself: I don’t necessarily look at the pre-edit version, but if the edited version is not problematical, I probably won’t give a warning. (If the edit didn’t take care of the problem, or created a different problem, the poster is responsible for whatever he or she said in the final version.)
How do you do it? I have apparently been in the dark since 2005. I just went to my site and can’t find where this option is.
The “last edited by…” line is a hyperlink for mods. Click on it and it shows you how ever many versions there are – click on “compare versions.”
This doesn’t come up very often, but if the final version is OK, there probably won’t be a warning. I can remember one instance where I gave a poster a warning for an insult and he edited out the insult after I posted my warning, at the same time I was sending the notification. I left the warning in place, but since then I’ve usually waited for the edit window to expire before I issue a warning for a new post.
Ha! fell into my trap.
:smack:
May we assume that if a poster makes a habit of insulting others then editing out the insult just before the timer runs out you might treat it differently?
Just happened today, actually. Though it seems to be more of a case of a poorly worded post that was edited for clarification.

This does not happen on my board, and I am an admin. I guess it happened in an upgrade.
This is starting to sound like a parlor trick.
I believe purists say that a tinfoil hat prevents the skin from getting properly crispy and tasty so you should never use a tinfoil hat, no matter what side you put up or down. Tinfoil hats result in mushy brains. Will no one think of the zombies?
