It’s a snooze-fest.

Can’t breathe! Can’t breathe!
Jeeze, with all the heavies concentrated here, I bet there are crimes aplenty going on in all the other threads.
Excuse me.
Oh, relax. We’re not after you.
Yet.
Did we decide to do this alphabetically, or by join date? I forget.
Well, no wonder! Giraffe is sitting on you, and he’s been overdoing it on the desserts lately.

So, let me get this straight: when I said we don’t close threads just because they’re uninteresting, you’ve found ONE counter-example? My comment was obviously a generality, I apologize for not having said “In 99.9984% of cases…”
Very well, then. See that you keep your wits about you in the future.
Actually, it was the other way around. At post #29 I commented on one of my threads being closed for being uninteresting, and then in response to this in post #46 you made your statement about threads not being closed just because they are uninteresting.
No apology necessary, for as I also said in post #29, “remember that the mods kindly volunteer a great deal of time, and that for the most part they are pretty level headed and do their best to keep everyone happy. Don’t sweat the small stuff.”
You want to be accurate here at Nitpicker Central.
Isn’t there a line about that in “Rio” by Duran Duran?
Actually, based on the current number of threads listed, that should be “In 99.9999970096583% of cases…”
Just to be precise.
As a Charter Member I abhor the implication that the Straight Dope is a haven for nitpickers. It is well known that we now have the problem relatively under control, and that it is that other board who now suffer the largest nitpicks in this area.
Probably - who could understand anything those guys were banging on about?
Zakalwe - sorry, my bad.
