Nat ‘King’ Cole had a hit of this song back in the sixties. There is also a ‘rock’, or, faster version of this song by a sixties group. I heard the tail end of it on an oldies channel, and couldn’t come up with the group. Any one?
Assuming it sounded a little like Elvis, then the version is probably either Carl Mann or Conway Twitty. Both rockabilly singers hit the charts with versions of “Mona Lisa” in 1959.
Dale Hawkins also covered “Mona Lisa” but apparently not until a 1989 album. Might get itself played on an oldies station these days, though.
