Back from Food Lion - it’s overcast and dreary - ugh. Rain on the way. Good day to spend reading, I’m thinking.
Gonna drag my butt off to the cafe and the bank and such.
There’s a cuke salad in the fridge getting all flavorful. There’s a big pot o’sketty sauce simmering away - some will go over ravioli for supper and the rest will be frozen. I’m finished a turkey-n-swiss sammich before resuming a recline in front of TV. Plus I finished M is for Malice and I think I may start N is for Noose if there’s nothing good on TV.
I’m having a pretty good day!
Back from the bank. I need to work on other stuff.
Wednesday flavored blurfage
MOOOOOOM I want your day! Mine has been sorta awful. The trip nawth went well but things have gone waaaaaaaay downhill since then. System email is down and may be the rest of the day. This means I cannot upload the ton o’ monthly reports I have completed. Oh well, I know they’re done. A ummm gentleman also came in to see me and reeked of alcohol, as in tail end of four day drunk reek of alcohol. He came in so I could get some info in advance of gettin’ him signed up with a placement tomorrow. Da bear was not pleased and did so inform him that if he even looked like he’d been drinkin’ tomorrow he would not be enrolled. To top it off my sinuses are achy today.
Firday can’t come soon enough.
Nope. She and my Uncle Chester had the first color TV in the family and expected that folks would come over to watch special stuff, or come hang out in hopes that there would be color TV on. She had a full living room for the 1969 moon landing.
If you visited just before Christmas, there were open boxes of See’s candy. She was a great aunt.
Happy Hump Day!
it looks miserable outside
I have stuff to do and need to get busy
**Doggio ** I’m not into hockey but right about now I’d take whatever help I can get
Howdy from da cave. I just wanted today to be over, so it is. I have a beastloaf I made last night in the oven. Mac 'n cheese and steamed cabbage shall accompany it for dindin. I might make cornbread. Or not. I’m not really committed at this moment.
I have learned that  Wally*World  has frozen fully cooked 10-12 pound turkeys in bags with instructions on how to heat it up in the nukelator. I am appalled and yet intrigued. I kinda sorta maybe just a little bit want to buy one just to see what it’s like. No way it’d get served on Turkey Day however. You may now proceed to be appalled, intrigued or any combo thereof.
I want turkey. I wish I could celebrate both Canadian and American Thanksgiving so I could get more turkey.
Perhaps you could begin a movement towards ecumenicalism.
The only one I’ve read was C is for Cookie. That was good enough for me.
I don’t think I’ve ever owned a microwave where I could fit a 10-12 lb. turkey inside.
It seems like you would burn part of it before you thawed all of it.
I got invited to a surprise party on Sunday. But don’t tell anyone… it’s a surprise!
ETA: My 5500th post! But I was told I’m not allowed to have post-count parties. But I figured it was safe enough to mention here. waits for a moderator warning
Beastloaf is done, cabbage is done, mac 'n cheese is done, cornbread (I decided to commit) is almost done. Come on dindin, da bear is hongry!
Happy 5500th Post MIdget! Who says you can’t have turkey for Amurrkin Turkey Day? Or Christmas? Or New Year’s Day? Or, just cause?
You can have a post count celebration turkey!
Back from burnin’ stuff in the park. We’d picked a great spot for it, one of the highest points in the city, with a panoramic view over everyone else’s firework displays. Unfortunately, this meant approx. 200 other random people showed up, and, naturally, decided to watch, wander through fire areas and ask if they could have a go. I don’t like performing freestyle with a crowd like that, so I didn’t. It was fun though. I become a small child when faced with fireworks.
Other exciting things today featured included collecting 12 bags of hoss muck for the allotment. Someone’s been going round the site trying to sell it for a ridiculous price, so I drove out of town to get some for free. Honestly, £50 for 10 bags of horse poo? Might as well just get a horse!
Anyway, after the hoss muck and the paraffin, I’m having a very long shower.
I never understood why so many people only eat turkey on Thanksgiving. Turkey is Teh Yum and should be consumed as often as possible!! And if a whole bird is too much, one can purchase parts and have just enough for a meal. Eat More Turkey!!! YUM!!
We had spinach ravioli for supper, but it didn’t taste very spinach-y. For all I know, they were full of white and green cheese. But it was tasty, especially with my freshly homemade sauce. I’ve got 2 bags of sauce in the freezer and I’ll have another container as soon as I tend to the leftovers. So sketties next week!
I watched NCIS marathon while crocheting the afternoon away. Shortly, I will resume the recline and continue to crochet.
Incidentally, “C is for Cookie” cracked me up!
Dindin has been ingested. Kitchen is clean. OYKW is havin’ a bath in the whirlpool tub. All is good.
I have turkey breast sometimes. Yum! turkey boob!
It’s sad that it is only six-thirty in the p. of m. here in south Jawja and other places EST and I kinda want to go to bed cause it’s dark. Then again, since I do have spend the night company that might not be the worst idea…
