Monday Monkey Post: A Very Monkey MMP

Closed out my old storage unit yesterday after work. Spent today sorting through boxes. I now have a large pile of things to sell, a large pile of things to repack, and a huge pile of things to go into the storage unit. Also signed the contract for the new storage unit. It’s maybe a mile or so from my house so that’s nice.

Tired. Have to clean my room tomorrow, including going through the boxes that I have there.

Apparently, even with most of my mp3’s inacessible on a damaged hard drive, I still have 1857 in my albums file. Methinks it is time to winnow.

But first another glass of wine.

This has been your obligatory drunken post.

I can spell when I’m buzzed. I’m surprised too.

Doggone - it’s 54°F out there right now! I think that qualifies as chilly, especially when all you’re wearing is a thin robe. Huzzah for chilly!!!

Scruffy let me sleep till almost 6, so yay for that. I’m going to give myself an hour or so to read the comics and Dear Abby before I tidy the kitchen and get ready to make pancakes. My baby turns 25 today - technically at 2:22 this afternoon. A quarter of a century!!! She was whining yesterday about being old. I’ll have to hurt her… :stuck_out_tongue:

Do we have someone up for tomorrow? Like maybe someone who’s never started the ball rolling before? Goodness knows, it’s not like it requires any writing talent…

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. And kinda sore, especially my shoulders and upper arms. The lid on that smoker is really heavy as in takes both hands (and arms) to lift it up. Plus from gettin’ up on and down from that platform trailor the smoker is attached to has made my laigs a little sore today. OY!

Soon I need to get chicken on the smoker for lunch today. Then I need to commence with purtification for deheathenization as I get to ush today. Fortunately most of lunch is ready and just needs to be heated up. I’s all smart like that.

Shadow I forgot to say this yesterday, OUCH!

I wanted to sleep a bit more, but Smokey wouldn’t let me.
I, and several others, will be spending the afternoon and evening at a friend’s house watching all of season two of The Big Bang Theory.

Morning. I’ll be laboring for a bit today, then it will be pool time.

Shadow, hope it’s better today.

: waves at Mork ficus :

Happy Busiversary!

No one has signed up for Monday, FCM.

Good morning all! Up, still in wake-up mode.

I’m not wishing anyone a happy anniversary till the actual date gets here. So, there! :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t believe I’ve ever seen such a well-spelled (which I originally typed well-speeeled, BTW) drunken post, Spaz.

Happy Sunday, all.

GT

Good morning all. I’m up, the coffee is done, the dogs have been out, and I’m enjoying the peace and quiet.
**
Mindy!** I see you behind the tree! Come on out!

I won’t be doing much of anything today except going to the grocery store and hanging out here. I never made it to the store yesterday, but I’ve got to go today. My son is out body wash, shampoo and shaving cream, plus we need actual, you know, food.

: peeks behind the suspicious-looking ficus and waves to Mork :

I have had a relatively lazy day, which is always good for a Sunday. After a late start, I had to take 'im indoors to the station to start his trip back to Europe, which was slightly delayed by the local marathon races as they block off both ends of our street and you have to argue with the barrier monitor about why you should be allowed out onto a road where there aren’t any runners and probably shouldn’t be any at that time of day. The main road at the bottom end of the street was flagged up as the 2 mile mark - the race started hours before we needed to get out so if there was anyone still running on that bit of the race, they wouldn’t be likely to finish until next weekend!

Anyway, got to the station and found his train was cancelled so he had to take a different one. The problem is at the London end of the line so he’s having to take a completely different route and that means he’ll miss his Eurostar by about 20mins. Hopefully they will be kind and book him straight on to the next one but you never know with them…

So I have spent the majority of the afternoon watching The Pillars of the Earth, and now I’ve decided to have a break, run a bath and then put my jammies on. I had planned a bit of garden-hacking but the weather’s not co-operating with that idea. Bath, jammies and bad telly it shall be then.

Happy Sunday, folks!

  1. Once without the snerk.

Up been out for breakfast and I have started getting things prepped for supper as we are having people round. Beer and wine are chilling, salad is ready, Corn is steamed ready to put on the grill, bacon is cooked ready for the green beans. Here in a bit I will chop the onions & garlic, get the beans ready, put the chips out, find the salsa I know I have in the cupboard, slice up the pineapple and nectarines (to sprinkle with sugar put on the grill and serve with ice cream for dessert).

mr ems had to run to the field for work but he vacuumed before he went and he will season up the ribs when he gets back. I will get plates and stuff out and dust and I need to run the dishwasher. Other than that it is an easy Sunday.

I love weekends where I do not have to travel.

It’s fun to go to church and get complimented on how good my <snerk> butt <snerk> is. Seriously, I got a <snerk> buttload <snerk> of compliments today. Makes a bear feel good it does!

Lunch was also a hit. Smoked chicken boobs and laigs, steamed cabbage, N.O.T. sallit, carrot/apple sallit, garlic bread and pig pickin’ cake which is also called mandarin orange cake but I like pig pickin’ cake better as a name.

I took some food over to JDD’s Brother after everyone left. JDD was there and their folks and sis were on the way over so I hung around for a bit to see them. Then I came back home and had a nice shower. I was gonna go have some pool time but I’m just not in the mood.

Dishes are done, smoker is cleaned up and bear is now relaxatin’ and chillin’ the rest of the day.

The Boys and I went up to Mt Mitchell today. We hiked up to the top (from the parking lot, not a big deal), went down the Balsam Nature Trail where we found a lot of late season raspberries and a few lingering blackberries and a spring. We did not see a b’ar except the taxidermied one in the museum.

Now it’s sit around and hang out time. There’s been talk of going to the laundromat today, but I don’t know if that’s going to happen. The Hair of the Dog is being consumed downstairs.

I got a small (2-rib) prime rib roast for dinner tonight. With some baked NOT and steamed speargrass, should be awesome!

It’s been a slow lazy Sunday… my kind of day!

Worked, been at the pool for the last few hours.

Make that 16.

(Love ya, swampy!)

Heh, Annie, thank you for counting!

Mmmmm, mmmmmmmmmmm, the grilled pineapple and nectarines sound yummy.

Good on you for cleaning stuff out, STG. I’ve been trying to do that all summer, with mixed results.

Back from miscellaneous errand running. Got me a new work backpack (wheeled) yesterday at a garage sale and was looking for a handle extension since it appears to have originally been a kid backpack and might be just a teensy bit short if I wear heels. Am thinking about fashioning my own.

Am considering what to do with my evening.

Back later when I decide.

But you have to admit that his butt does look great. I’m straight as Hell and I think so. And he doesn’t even owe me five bucks for saying so.

The secret is in in the rub and the way I <snerk> smoke butt!<snerk>

Love ya too Annie! MWAH

Yes and no. Even straights like me can smoke butt. But to really rub one well to get the most <snerk> out of it <snerk> you really need to be GLBT. At least IMHO.
