Monday Monkey Post: A Very Monkey MMP

Happy birthday, Puggy! People born in September rock. (Why yes, my birthday is also this month…how did you guess?)

On Monday afternoon there was a big meeting with the customer. Yesterday all of the management types were walking around looking somber. This morning an all-hands meeting has been called for 11am. I’m skeered! I’ve known since mid-July that this program is likely ending on 10/15, but I’m just hoping no direction was given/decisions were made on Monday that will result in being unemployed sooner than that. Fingers crossed…

The company that mows my lawn finally responded to my request for an estimate for some tree trimming/yard cleanup work. They say they can do the estimate without me being home, but if it turns out that I can afford to have the work done I’ll want to be there when they actually do it. I get paranoid about not being clear enough in writing, and I don’t want to get home to find that something wasn’t done right. Especially since it’s not my house (I’m a renter). First things first, though, as I wait for the estimate to be done.

Happy 90210 Day, everyone!

Happy Birthday, Pugs!

I found the perfect apartment with everything I wanted. Alas, it *was *too good to be true; there was a typo in the listing. Even in Silicon Valley, an additional $600/month is real money. Back to the drawing board.

Headed home 3 hours early today. 10% storm related, the rest because I wanna.

Happy Birthday, Puggy!!!

That’s all I got.

Hugs to them as needs 'em.

Family :( again. Such is life I suppose.

{{{StickyBuns}}} just cause it looks like you need it.

Country fried steak ‘n gravy for dindin with smashed N.O.T., butter beans, squishes and corn bread. I’m in a downhome cookin’ state of mind today.

I also mowed yahds this mornin’.

That is all for now. Carry on.

*Happy **Puggy *Day!!!

Waiting for tree guy #1 to arrive - in about 40 minutes. Spousal unit thinks we’re looking at $1500 for two trees. I think he’s insane. We shall see.

**FCD **has a late meeting today and daughter has meet-the-teacher-open-house at school till 5:30 - she expects to leave there around 6. Maybe we’ll go out for supper?

Doesn’t look like Earl is going to cause me much misery, so that’s good. Some rain would be nice but there’s none in the forecast. Doesn’t even look like we’ll get much wind. Oh well…

Glad tomorrow’s Firday and the start of a long weekend. I may bail at noon, just because.

Ugh.

Fortunately it’s not real busy today, because I feel like crap. And it’s my own fault - I had chocolate muffins for dinner, stayed up until 2, had a chocolate muffin and some cheerios for breakfast. And it’s shark week.

Can haz Friday?

Happy Birthday Pugs! May it be easy, enjoyable, and quiet.

Happy Pugday!

I just had takeout Chinese for dinner. And it was good.

Drugs are awesome. Motrin saved my day.

All righty - $1300 for 2 trees and 2 huge branches. He can do it next week. We’ll see what the guy tomorrow says.

Thank goodness for savings…

MOOOOOOM how big are those trees? I had nine pine trees removed for a total of nine hundred bucks when I had the pool put in. Of course that was seven years ago and he said he’d do it for a hundred bucks a tree because of the number of trees. This included grindin’ down the stumps and haulin’ everything off. Same guy charged my next door neighbor a hundred fifty bucks a piece to take down three trees two years ago. Tree gettin’ rid of is an expensive proposition ain’t it!

ShinyCat yes, drugs are good. Spaz Chinese food are also good.

**swampy **- the dead red oak is about 4’ in diameter and I don’t know how tall. It’s within 20’ or so of the house. He’s going to have to take several branches off before he can drop the tree. The two red oak branches are right over the roof, so he can’t just cut 'em and drop ‘em. The paulownia is at least 3’ in diameter - maybe more, and it has MANY MANY branches. He figures it’ll be a 2-day job.

Daughter is on her way home, then we’re going to get food. I’s stahvink!!

Happy Birthday Puggy!

Praying for the folks along the coast - and my relatives in the Tidewater. Hopefully it will just be a glancing blow.

I’m still feeling a bit sore but made it through the day safely. Whew! I will most certainly never -ever- run for the bus again! LOL

And thank goodness tomorrow is Firday as well as a three-day holiday weekend, I think I need it. Hang in there everyone, hugs as needed!

Here’s hopin’ Earl misses all you Etlannic Coasters!

MOOOOOOM I see why the big bucks now. The pines I got taken down were about four feet in diameter but bein’ pines, were straight up and tall. Also, only one was near the house but still was not a problem to cut down.

Happy Birthday, Puggy!!!

It’s my Firday, because I have friends coming into town for Bacon Camp and other general fun.

Hope the hurricane misses all of you; just saw on FB that Haze slept through the typhoon, so she’s OK. Meant to add: Here’swhat Earl looked like from space a couple of days ago.

How was the all-hands meeting, Missy?

Need to go for a bit of a walk, then I need to figure out what I need to do in the a.m.

Hugs all.

WHAT IS IT WITH MY CAR AND HOLIDAY WEEKENDS?!? I came home on a tow truck again today. I left work, and was stopping at a Wally*World in Chesapeake to buy some last minute hurricane supplies, when the engine quit at 35 mph just like I shut it off; it would not restart. When I got to the garage, they said it was not sparking, so it’s some kind of ignition problem.

Last time, it was 4th of July weekend and the tranny. Shouldn’t cost nearly as much this time, though.

I’m sitting at home, and we are waiting for Earl to drive by. It came a bit more west, so the eye will actually hit Hatteras Island. Forecast winds for Cottonfield County are up into tropical storm strength, and now we expect 2" of rain. Peak will be about 2 AM, and gone by 8. The winds will swing from NE to NW, so any limbs from my pecan tree will fall away from the house. All of my prepping is done, with my old pickup truck and the trash trailer sitting outside to get washed and blow dried by the storm.

I’m on standby for fire and rescue duty, but I also intend to ride out the storm in bed. So much for a planned weekend of sloth…

We’re all better now, hopefully. And I’m looking forward to a long weekend with TVMan. I think we’ll be doing a bit of traveling.

Sorry about the car, VBob. Mine still isn’t fixed, so I’m just hoping that it doesn’t break down while we’re out and about.

Happy Birthday Puggy!

Long day today…

I’m tired and down in the dumps.

Hugs to all and I’m sorry that some of you are having car woes.
