Hmm … I’m not very well known here, but I live in Kingston. That’s about 2.5 hours west of Montréal. I’ve been wanting to visit the city again… and it does have a cool ring.

Well, it’s not like I have a plan or anything… I thought we folk couild kinda mull it over a bit and… you know… end up with a dopefest.
I, left hand man to the right hand man of the Dark Lord of Chaos, haven’t got a hope in heck of organizing anything, much less a gathering of individuals…
That’s what I have a wife for.

Okay, I really don’t want to be the organizer, for a variety of reasons (I’m far too busy, not a veteran SDMBer, haven’t been to a Dope Fest before, don’t live in Montreal… is that enough?). However, I will toss out some ideas:

Hey, I’m like an hour and a half. OK, my parents’ house is an hour and a half, but close enough.
I suggest Feburary or late Jan as a date, and I suggest Dim Sum as an event. I know the BEST dim sum place in China Town. Seriously. When my family goes, we’re usually the only whities in there.
And maybe dancing? I am shamefully undereducated in the Montreal club scene.

Y’know, late Jan - Feb sounds pretty good to me. Need a chance to recover from this holiday season. (a.k.a. reccuring nightmare)
Dim Sum sounds pretty good to me. I’m more into quiet conversation than dancing. Almost everyone I know appreciates that about me - in particular those who have seen me dance. Don’t know how well pyjamas would go over at a Dim Sum joint, tho.
If it can be about the second week of February I could possibly come and bring a friend, whom you may or may not know – the rarely-seen Mechanichik – I’ll be 18, she’ll be two months under her 18th birthday – but we could come over school break…
