Monty gives mormons a bad name

From Monty:
For the record: Smilingjaws is the sock puppet user name for bluebird, the incredible bigot of yore, who was not swayed by such minor things as facts. Said bluebird user name is now an inactive account. Gee, ain’t that too bad.

sorry monty, I’ve never denied being Bluebird. The truth is I moved after I had signed up using bluebird and after a couple of months of stress and work I simply forgot the damn password, so I took a new name. It’s exactly like your misogynistic, cretin self to try and make it sound like some sort of conspiracy.

You know monty, I am sick and tired of your mindless twaddle. You are a total liar who manipulates words to try to disguise the sick and sorry truth about yourself. Frankly, you little twerp, you are the type of mormon that exposes your religion to ridicule. Since reading the polite way that Snark and other mormons respond to things, I was starting to have a little more respect for individuals who chose mormonism, but you have totally erased every vestige of that respect. You are just like the stupid mormons I know personally. My aunt who bled my grandmother of every dime she had except for her social security. Who planted her friends on my grandmother to leech off her and live at her expense. Who broke into my Aunt’s house when she was in the hospital to make sure she would be able to take all the stuff she wanted. My aunt’s husband–a devout 60ish mormon who decided he deserved more than one woman just like ole Joe Smith, so he set up an underaged girl as his mistress while he was parading himself as the holy and rightous mormon. My grandfather’s so called friend who annointed him with oil on his deathbed against his expressed will, thus denying him a peaceful death. That sounds just like you, Monty–totally selfish, egotistical, and too damn stupid to know that other people think you’re nothing but joke of a man with no redeeming social values.
You don’t give a damn about other people’s religious freedom and you lie about your church’s own practices. You lied that post-death baptisms were nothing but prayers. Yeah, right, you smarmy little twit. All churches spend millions of bucks to record prayers and look up genealogical records to make sure prayers are said for each person.
Then you deny the practice of milk before meat, the totally unethical system of sucking in converts by misleading them about your belief system until they are too far in to think clearly. You accused me of lying about my own grandfather’s death–an event which you could not possibly know anything about.

Your unjustifiable feelings of superiority result from your own inadequate mental capacities. I cannot believe that you were accepted as a member of the armed forces It makes me sick to think that my country has to depend on hate-filled, prevaricators like you. No wonder the military has such morale problems.
Go on, little monty, rant, rage and spill your pitiful little bile. Who the heck cares–everyone knows you for exactly what you are.

I don’t particularly care for him either. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey dere Krispy. How are things?

pat

I was going to ask the same thing, but I didn’t want him to think I missed him or anything. :stuck_out_tongue:

You turn me on. But maybe it’s because I just spent 20 years in the jungle, getting it on with anything I could attract with a piece of fruit.

He took a vacation with E.T., I guess.

Hey, isn’t this thread supposed to be about Monty?

When all else fails, ask Cecil.

One thing about Monty: he’s a better Mormon than I am, by several orders of magnitude. Let’s have a little Christian tolerance, hmmm? Nobody’s perfect.

The poster formerly known as “Snark.” (Don’t ask.)

Christian tolerance? Isn’t that a bit of an oxymoron? Being neither American nor Midwestern (thank god), I haven’t had much exposure to Mormons, but my impression of them is that they are generally hypocritical, intolerant book burners who extend their manipulative control beyond the congregation to the surrounding society. I find the link between religion and politics in America disgusting, and I hold Mormons in no higher regard.

I’m sorry Karma, I know Mormons, and I cant imagine them wanting to burn books or anything. I’ve never known anyone in a church who wanted to burn books!
Apparently, you don’t like religion. Well, I don’t either, but I love God, and religion has nothing to do with it.
As an aside: does anyone know whatever happened to Donald Wildmon, who used to urge boycots of Disney, et al?

Hi Melin, pricciar, and Diane. Hi too to ChrisCTP, jazzmine, and kellibelli if you are reading this.

I’ve been lurking around from time to time and posting every once in a while.

Everything is status quo here on the home front.

Thanks for noticing and asking. That’s very kind of you.

Here’s his organization’s homepage, if you’ve got the stomach for it:

I only dislike organized religion. I think that the very concept of being trained in a belief is a frightening oxymoron.

I saw another post decrying people who said they were spiritual, whereas the poster claimed them to be lazy people who wanted religion without the work.

Why would religion have to be work? Religion should give understanding and freedom, not conformity, manipulation, and toil. (Sorry to sound like an angsty teenager).

karmacoma:

You admit you haven’t had much exposure to them, but you feel justified in concluding they are generally hypocritical and intolerant? Well, then you can’t object if I find that your post is enough exposure for me to conclude that you are specifically hypocritical and intolerant.

BTW, I’m not a religious believer of any sort. In one of my jobs I had very frequent contacts with many Mormons, including Church officials, and I experienced zero intolerance. Even if I had, I would not characterize a whole group of based on the actions of some.

Do churchgoers want to “burn” books? I’m sure some of them do, but most of them would probably be happy just banning them. There have been numerous attempts by “religious” groups to remove books from public libraries and public schools. Many of these attempts involve books with gay and lesbian subject matter and “occult” subject matter. One notable example I recall from about a year ago was that of a minister in Texas who checked out his town’s library’s copy of “Heather Has Two Mommies” and refused to return it. Basically, he stole it. He did I think eventually pay for the replacement cost of the book and promptly checked out the new copy and kept that one too. He encourages people across the country to follow his lead, engaging in de facto theft and censorship.

Please child, don’t speak on things you dont have a clue about, like you have any knowledge. You don’t know what it’s like to be Mormon, nor do you know what it’s like to be American, so please don’t open your trap on either subject. Thank you.

“There have been numerous attempts by “religious” groups to remove books from public libraries and public schools.”

Who cares if they band books, Otto? When’s the last time you saw a exodus of teenagers running to the library for anything? Religious or parental groups can ban any book they want, that will just give a teen the interest to go down to Barnes & Noble and buy it themselves. I think banning books is another ‘Non-issue’ commented on in the pit awhile back.

Band books…like sheet music? Let’s try ‘ban books’…that makes the reply more rational.
