I am writing a trivia quiz and want to throw in a few categories that are basically recycled from Monty Python sketches that are quiz shows. (For example, one question in my quiz would be “‘The Hammers’ are the nickname of what English football team?”, taken from their famous “Communist Quiz” sketch. So far “Communist Quiz” and “Take Your Pick” (the one where the prize is the “blow on the head”) are the only two I can think of. Were there any more that were quiz shows with actual questions and answers?
Well, this one has some Pythons in it.
You could have LOTS of fun, if you could work a little Blackmail into the evening…
What great opponent of Cartesian dualism resists the reduction of psychological phenomena to physical states?
What … is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
Henri Bergson?
Underwater goats - with snorkels.
As long as you put things on top of other things, you’ll be fine.
Well Pederasto… a game for all the family
You could make good use of some of the lines from the Dead Parrot sketch or the Cheese Shop sketch, I think.
It’s a Living features an exciting explanation of the game rules: Monty Python - Opção de Vida - It's a Living - (LEGENDADO) - YouTube
and for those of you playing at home:
Is the correct answer!
It’s also the correct answer, apparently, to: What great opponent of Cartesian dualism resisted the reduction of psychological phenomena to physical states?
But not to: What is the main food that penguins eat?
p-p-pork?
Burma!
Why’d you say “Burma” ?
Good point. The correct answer is the Taj Mahal.
You could have them summarize Proust, or if you want to be really edgy, have them come up with a derogatory term for Belgians.
I panicked!
How about a nice game of Shoot The Poof!
Don’t forget a rousing round of Spot the Looney.
