Moon Landing Hoax

I used to be happy with the explanation that man went to the moon, but then I started hearing stories of a hoax, I looked into it more on the inter and I was shocked to discover that there is an overwhelming amout of evidence to suggest that it was infact a hoax, and that NASA was doing the dirty on the world and on the Astronauts. I have produced my own report which contains of all the main facts, if you would like a copy of this report e-mail me at magicnet8m@hotmail.com and ask for it.

I think you’re referring to a mailbag article, not one of Cecil’s columns, so I expect this thread will be moved shortly. The mailbag article is Was the Apollo moon landing a hoax?

Gee, I thought it was the real thing, but if you say you found data on the Internet suggesting it was a hoax, then I must have been wrong.

Private e-mail is no way to discuss a question on a message board. Why don’t you just post the main points from your report here?

Thanks for the advice I will soon be posting the main arguments that show the possibility that the moon landing was a hoax, buty to understand fully u need to read my report as it contains explained pictures that show what i am talking about.

magicman, this is sure to be quite amusing. Of course, you will not use any of the “evidence” that has been clearly and solidly refuted by Phil Plait among others? Right? And you will use evidence that you have examined directly yourself?

In any case, read the linked report and ask yourself if you can take up that argument.

Using their advanced 1960s technology, NASAs 25,000 employees mangaged to fool not only the pesky Russkies who tracked the entire flight, but they also fooled the astronauts into thinking they had flown to moon. Did they play them looped Frank Sinatra songs for a few weeks :dubious:

Let me give you a gentle warning, that we’ve seen this supposed “evidence” before, and all of it is just plain stupid. If your report just regurgitates these old arguments, you might be the subject of a few barbs. But if you’ve found something that we haven’t seen, we’ll be interested to see it.

Sure, we could have faked the moon landings. But why would we bother? It was much easier to just actually do it.

CurtC: << we’ve seen this supposed “evidence” before, and all of it is just plain stupid. >.

Now, now, CurtC, let’s not rush to oversimplification. It’s not all stupid… some of it is outright lies and distortions.

Keeripes, how many times must this come up?

Run, do not walk, to my Fox debunking page and to my list of other websites about the hoax, most notably Clavius.org.

Assuming you are serious. I get about ten emails a week that sound like the OP, but then point to one of the numerous joke sites. :smack:

Did they also fake the Challenger explosion and the guys are living a new and hidden life in the Caribbean?

My father used to work for NASA. He went to Florida to watch Apollo 17 lift off, then flew out to Hawaii and got on the USS Ticonderoga to pick it up. His response to the hoax rumours:

“Well I watched the astronauts get into the rocket, and I watched it lift off up into the sky. I listened to them on the radio and watched them on the TV. A while later, I watched a tiny dot appear in the sky over the Pacific, get bigger and bigger, and then land in the sea. The capsule got winched aboard and those same men got out. If it was a hoax, it must have been the most expensive hoax ever. Some really, really clever special effects, that fooled not only me, but every single person I worked with. In fact, I think to fake it would probably have cost more than actually sending people to the moon.”

Ah, but then he would say that, though, wouldn’t he…

You can’t blame him for not believing man went to the moon.

Hell for 1/2 hour after watching the documentary I had serious doubts (before you start factoring in the enormity of the hoax and the chances of being found out)

Its a hell of a talking point though when somebody sees it for the first time

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but the Shakespeare deniers have been at it for about 150 years now, and they don’t show any signs of vanishing soon. Indeed, as education withers away in the face of trade-school “degrees” like “MBA”, they have only grown stronger.

Well, the Flat Earth Society is still around, so I imagine the Moon Landing Hoax Believers will never let reality get in the way of their delusions either.

Hmmm, looks like the magic moron – sorry, I meant magicman gave up the ghost when he found out actual facts might be involved … Note his magic number of Posts: 2.

Ponder, no insults in this forum, please.

I sent him an e-mail, asking for his “report.” And he replied. It’s exactly the same stuff we’ve seen before. I then replied, asking questions about things that he might want to look into a little more. Sort of taking the Socratic approach. We’ll see where that goes.

I suggest you actually read the contents of that web site. This particular “Flat Earth Society” is obviously an elaborate practical joke.

I’m beginning to think that the SDMB is a hoax, it’s just me and some other guy who makes up all the other posts isn’t it?
