Thank you, at last somebody understands what i am trying to say, i will contact NASA, and i will let you know if i get a reply, i discovered that all the plans had been distroyed when i watched a video on the net trying to prove the moon landings did happen, the host, an investigative reporter, asked NASA if they he could see the plans and he was told they were all destroyed, i am really sorry but i found the video site through a search engine so i have no idea what the site is, you may say that is a “conveinient” but unless you can find that video yourself you will just have to believe what i say, and for many of you that will be hard.
Hey I think maybe magicman did tell it the wrong way by saying he had the truth, but I think you shouldn’t have jumped down his throat like that, considering you’re all ‘mature’ adults and he is only 14. For a 14 year old though, he has some valid arguments. It’s not my place to argue of defend but I think it would be better appreciated and magicman would have listened to your comments from the beginning if you hadn’t been insulting to him, some of you. You all want to battle your arguments, this is not a debate, its like a courtroom drama. Will you all please chill out because it is, at the end of the day, only opinions and I think we all have a right to believe what we want to believe. I personally think magicman’s report is very valid considering his age and I think his site is worth visiting, despite the fact that I believe man landed on the moon AND what some of you said about it being rubbish. I’m saying this in the friendliest way possible, I think you have been sincerely harsh to magicman just for what he believes, I think you all need to calm down and chill out.
Hi Chilldout (why I get the impression you know magicman somehow…?) - please bear in mind we didn’t know he was only 14 until nearly 50 posts - it’s not always possible to tell when people are kids, since there are many adults who write as badly as him. Once we knew, we went easy.
Were we insulting to him? One poster slipped a “moron” in there, and was immediately chastised by an administrator. But even that post was done when it looked like magicman had done a hit-and-run post and would likely never be heard from again.
I’m certainly willing to cut a 14 year old some slack - hell, I believed in various kooky ideas when I was that age. But his report isn’t “very valid considering his age.” It’s either valid or not. I guess it’s not surprising considering his age, but that’s about as generous as I can be.
magicman, you now say (contrary to what you said at the beginning) that you don’t want us to believe it, but just to acknowledge that there are valid arguments for the pro-hoax side. I would like to see one, because I thought I had seen them all, and all the ones I’ve seen are invalid. Why don’t you post the one or two best arguments that you’ve found?
I do not know magicman but I do feel that some members of this board have been unfair to him, however.
Colour me ALSO confused, then.
Most people would reasonably think that if you’re “writing for a site that aims to tell the truth”, you would write something that does contain what you see as truth. It was not “stupid” to presume this. Writing whatever fits the venue just so people will bother reading it is fine training for a future career writing for some of Britain’s (and New York’s) biggest-selling papers , but it puts you at risk of the kind of reaction that started off here. I mean, many of us have done “Devil’s Advocate” exercises, but usually with the debaters knowing that this is a thought experiment.
(By the way: aren’t you worried that the people at the site will think you are hoaxing them, specially if, like us at first, they are unaware of your specific circumstances? )
In any case, most of the arguments included in the report indeed have been effectively debunked which is why there was little patience at first. Arcane ones like the LM original blueprints are subject to verification but are not particularly damning, more on the league of curiosities. Let me wish you success in searching out just what was done with the blueprints.
magicman, I speak as the father of a 13 and a 16 year old…
You are obviously very intelligent and motivated. Good for you!
However, if you want to be listened to and respected, I advise that you try and tone down the strident tone of your posts while here. I was also serious earlier about the ‘caps’ key. In my experience, only the frothing-at-the-mouth ranters and kooks use either all caps or no caps in their posts. If you want to be taken seriously by adults you’ll find it helps to write in an adult manner.
Welcome to the land of reasonable discourse!
BrianMalion
Obviously I didn’t get to do this last night. I’ll try to get around to it today, but can’t promise anything.
I am very pleased to see that somebody understands what i am trying to say, and can keep their big headed ideas to themselves, thank you chilledout, and i must say i do not not know chilled out, he posted those comments on his on free will, and i thank him greatly for that, i would also like to thank BMalion for his understanding advice.
To curt c and all you other people out there who still wish to question me then please direct your questions about the report to the e-mail address for the site [EMAIL=findthetruth_online@hotmail.com]findthetruth_online@hotmail.com
I must make clear that the find the truth site is not my site, i only write for it, i do however know the person who owns it, we will soon be adding some more reports that i am sure will raise some very heated discussions like the ones we have just had.
Once again thank you to chilledout and BMalion.
The unfortunate fact is that you’re lying. The “find the truth” site is absolutely and positively stating, from its homepage on, that the moon landings were a hoax. So either your entire “report” is a lie (because you’re saying in it what you know not to be true) or you’re lying to us now (because you keep denying that you mean what you say).
Being 14 is no excuse for lying, kiddo.
More than that, you’re calling other people liars. That’s libel, and if they gave a damn about what fools believe, they could sue your ass off.
I don’t understand why so many people are finding this hard to understand. I was asked to write a report about the moon landing hoax, i worte the report because it was a challenge, i do not believe the landings were a hoax but i am hadly goin to put that at the end of my report am i, when its supposed to be showing people they were a hoax, this i sthe final time i am going to say I DO NOT THINK THE MOON LANDINGS WERE A HOAX, and who is going to sue me? NASA, i doubt they have the time nor money to try and sue every person who has said the landings were hoax, and i have been called a liar by many people, but that is not a reason to sue, i have damaged nobodies reputation and i have not said anything that could damage anybodies reputation, and i not plan to do so, nobody has any reason to sue me and to be quite honest i doubt anybody has a case aqgainst me, but if i have offened anybody i am sorry but noday can say i was unprovoked.
JWK, no one is going to sue magicman for libel. There isn’t a case, plus he’s in the UK!
magicman, you came here telling us to read your report, which says “What this report is basically saying is that the Moon Landings of the 60’s and 70’s were hoaxes and did not happen.” But then you say you never claimed that you really believe it. Do you see the conflict? But now I see you were lying when you wrote the report. OK. It’s been a tortuous path, but I think I understand where we are.
Still, you say there is evidence against NASA’s version of the story. Can you post one or two things that you think have the most sway?
magicman, I must admit that what I find hard to understand is why the heck would you bother to write something you know to be false, knowing that the editors of the site ** WILL present it as true**. What, he would not publish it labeled as fiction? Then let it not be published.
I mean, I can write a story about, oh, let’s say, UFO abductions. Or evidence of Young Earth Creationism But if the author of a site that advocates any of these positions asked me to write a piece pretending to “prove” them, I would just plain refuse unless it were clearly labeled “fiction”.
Had you come here and told us right up front: “I created a fictional pro-moon-hoax report, please read it and tell me if it sounds credible or makes you think about another way of looking at the issue,” you would have saved everyone here a heap of misunderstanding, the more vicious replies would have likely not been posted, and you may have received constructive critiques. There woudl have been loss of face or lack of respect involved in coming clean right up front.
“There would NOT have been loss of face…”
Administrator speaking:
This is ridiculous. The original question was asked and answered (about a dozen times on this website.) We’re now at the stage of namecalling and impugning motives that is not acceptable in this forum.

magicman, this is a website for adults and for adult discussions. If you want to stay here, conduct yourself accordingly.
Everyone else, ditto.
