More Muslim Marvelousnous

Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live?

Son, the day one of your posts goes over another poster’s head is the day after amoebas start posting.

And if you had a half of a half of a half of a half of a half of a brain, you, too, would be fearful of radical Islam. Unless you don’t mind the type of activity I posted above.

All reasonable people are concerned by radical Islam, and indeed by opperssive or violent radicals of all stripes. You, however, have made a name for yourself by tarring every single Muslim with the same brush while handwaving away issues with other extremist groups, and even mainstream ones, that aren’t stereotypically composed of brown people. It’s like you expect people to forget what a disgusting bigot you are between threads. News flash, retard: that shit doesn’t disappear.

Well you see there are a lot of us who are afeared of radical Islam. But we are also afeared of the the rabid, racist, right. And the RRR has quite possibly more chance of impacting our lives and the lives of those we hold close. In very real ways, white Christian racist right wingers have a much greater impact on my life than radical Islam does.

Doesn’t mean I should be complacent about the potential for threat from radical Islam. But I’m keeping more of an eye on the crazies you line up with, to be honest.

I appear to have communicated clumsily. My “please go away” line was intended to be read as directed at the OP, not at you.

As I’m sure you’ve noticed, Muslim isn’t a race is a common retort from people who are accused of racism when they get called out for Muslim-bashing. They seem to think that saying it means they’re not really being Islamophobic dickheads, just because the person calling them out “misused” the concept of racism.

My apologies for my lack of clarity.

P.S. OP, if I thought you were being anything other than disingenuous, I’d probably wonder why you didn’t title your thread “More Radical Muslim Marvelousness.”* As it is, I don’t think there would be much point.

*Cleaned up your spelling for you there. You’re welcome.

I wondered about that, but then I decided to go the mightily offended route. :doffs cap:

ETA: So happy I’m not the only person who’s tearing out my hair every time I have to read that fucking typo in the title.

Because there wouldnt have been a spailingue error in it, then. That’s how you spot good people, they make spailingue errors.

He clearly meant “More Muslim Marvelous Nous

Pfffttttttt…and smarter than you, too, buddy boy!!!

So where did this dumb new bigot bitch come from? I didn’t even notice she existed until the Pit thread based on her posts in this one.

Cheer up, I foresee a “dust to dust” resolution not far off.

I’m just curious if she has any purpose here other than to be tedious.

Well, here’s the dilemma I see for the phobists in this thread and its attendant one: They’re whining that it’s the religion, Islam, that’s to blame for the case of the woman who was gang raped because of illicit sex on the part of her brother and someone from a “powerful clan” (i.e., the local elite). The woman’s family was blamed by the local self-appointed authorities but the members of the local self-appointed authorities didn’t do jack about the elite’s family member(s) engaging in illicit sex. And to top it off, the actual government prosecuted the offenders (the rapists) and is appealing the overturning of the original verdict. *And to top it off, the local religious leader–you know, the Islamic dude in charge of explaining Islam to the locals–has stated that the elite’s stunt was both immoral and against Islam.

Now, to those not keeping up, the original verdict against the local elite was in Pakistan’s anti-terrorism court and Pakistan’s supreme court had decided that, given the low standards for acceptable evidence, the accused has the right to appeal in the regular courts. In other words, the case is still going through the actual court system, mind you, not some local group of people who act like they’re in charge because the wealthy locals bribe them.

So, it’s money and prestige, not Islam that drove that case. I mean, c’mon, folks! If the local Muslim authorities condemn the action as unislamic, how can you decide on your own that said action is representative of Islam?

Hello and fuck you, too.

Oh. And here I’ve been waiting for an appearance of the Islamic cartoon hero Muslim Marvelous Mouse.

What abortion clinic did you crawl out of?

I am struck by the phenomenal power attributed to the Koran, the resolute and unbending allegiance of Muslims to every jot and tittle, or so we are told. But not Christians and the Gospel, most Christians wear their religion rather lightly. Set a Presbyterian down next to a Methodist, and likely neither of them could tell you what their doctrinal difference are. And don’t even get started on Jesus’ contempt for the pursuit of wealth, that seems to have rolled off rather easily. Not to mention the number of more or less secular Jews.

But not, we are given to understand, not Muslims. Nosir! They are gripped by their Holy Book in a way unmatched by the other Abrahamic religions, the Koran has a power denied to the Torah or the Gospel.

Now, if you are disinclined towards religious mumbo-jumbo, then the question remains as to why? If there is no actual metaphysical “power” associated with religious works, then why should this one be different? What explains it?

And if you are inclined to religion, it gets worse. What, God likes them better? The Koran actually was the transcribed words of an archangel, and the Gospels are just a bunch of stories? How else to explain God’s rather petty distinction. I mean, shit, don’t even back your own Kid? Give the Real Shit to some illiterate tent-maker in the Godforsaken Desert? What is that, eternal tough love?

There is a segment of armband, evalengical Christians who think the Koran was dictated by a demon, so that’s what gives it power. They literally believe that.

I commend you for being afraid of both. Good. A now a question: how does this RRR have a greater impact on your life the radical Islam you also rightly fear? From where I sit, the murderous barbarians that flew the planes into buildings on 9/11 have effected life in the U.S. more than anything in the past 60 years.
