Just in case you haven’t seen it, James Lileks has a new section in the Gallery of Regrettable Food.
I love this guy’s work.

Bring me a bucket!
Darn you, MLS, why didn’t you post this earlier? I’m eating plain mashed potatoes right now. I could have made myself a special ‘surprise’ treat.
(tongue in cheek - which would probably look and taste better than what’s in the picture)
The cose ups remind me of http://www.jengajam.com/r/Soup-Or-Puke]puke or soup.
I swear, this popped up right when I got back from the Knudsen section.
Damn, that’s some SCARY looking recipes!
Oh, how I LOVE it when Lileks updates his regrettable food section. I honestly wish I could get my hands on those recipe books, because I love collecting kitschy items like that.
And: Coffee Jello! Mmmmm. Goes down cool and easy.
An Aussie friend once sent me a copy of Be Bold with Bananas, a '50s cookbook I’d been hunting for ages. For a cocktail party, I made the obscene-looking “Banana Candles” (which involved whipped cream on the tips!). None of the guests would touch them.
