Garius - far be it from me to be a sore loser (and I’m far from losing yet) but your gamesmanship is far from sportsmanlike, IMO.
So forced to go for broke and play a lone hand, I declare Golder’s Green - which I believe I can do, since no one has yet called the controversial Pintler Revision of the revised (1847) Bradshaw Rules.
gulp since my only ally is off-line and TwistofFate is becoming an increasingly strong threat to the north i think the time for hit-and-fade tactics has passed.
So with that in mind i’m going to fortify at Notting Hill Gate
BUT
I’m leaving the “Signal Failure” in force at North Acton
I know that whilst i leave it in force i can’t change lines, but it also prevents any of you sneaky buggers sliding in behind me via Acton Town (i.e. you Francesca, Don’t even try the doe-eyed “Who me?!” look. You got me with that in last year’s Woolworth’s Cup and i’m not falling for it again!!).
Which leaves me with, i believe, firmly dug-in and in control of virtually the whole of West London (Apart from the Metropolitan Line of course).
You forget Uxbridge. I know it’s a little risky, but with skipping in effect, it’s a valid move (yes, I do remember that I declared leaves on the line earlier, but I’m also invoking Pinkler’s revision. Hopefully someone can now open up the Ruislip area. I don’t have the necessary skills.
I can’t believe that i forgot about Pinkler’s Revision. (I’m kicking myself - thats such a rookie mistake…)
Okay, i know people always kick up about this - but before anyone argues, it IS in the Revised rules so it IS allowed (check last months issue of The Crescenter if you don’t believe me.)
I’m calling “Replacement Bus Service” between Rayner’s Lane and South Harrow
It means conceding control of Ruislip and Ruislip Manor to Tapioca but at least it leaves the rest of my Zone of Control secure.
And i’m still staying entrenched at Notting Hill Gate - (probably in a pub )
For Christ’s sake, people, ITALICIZE rules when you invoke anything but a straight. For that matter, isn’t it conventional to underline any precedent you would nromally indicate by knocking? (New players note that those are largely, but not exclusively, the bi-revisionist precedents, or derivatives thereof)
I’m losing count. Would you say it’s a 20/30 split, with garis entrenched?
Oh, and would someone let me know which year’s timetable we are using. And, if I understand the Bradshaw Rules (Revised), I believe we should assume the trains are running on time. But, times being what they are, are the trains running in a timely fashion?
As the game stands at the moment everything is running on time - although Leaves on the Line is in play on above ground stations (with the obvious penalties that entails).
And of course everything west of Notting Hill Gate where i’m entrenched is subject to delay - as i’m still playing Signal Failure on North Acton and have a Replacement Bus Service In Place up at Rayner’s Lane
