AFAIK, threadshitting (in the sense of posting in a thread for the purpose of complaining about the thread rather than contributing to the thread) is just as possible in the BBQ Pit as anywhere else. Am I misunderstanding you?

You aren’t misunderstanding me. I just think that threadshitting in the Pit is almost impossible. Half the threads here are people complaining that the OP is an idiot and that the thread is stupid. Especially if the thread is political.

Mildness is possible, but needs to be discouraged. The meek must be scourged!

Obama is overly sympathetic to Muslims. He’s bowing to them like he bowed to the Japanese Emperor.

Seriously, my response ever since I heard my first “Obama is a secret Muslim” hue and cry is “So what? If he was a Muslim, what’s wrong with that? Does that mean he can’t run the country? Is there something in the Constitution forbidding Muslims to run the country?”

(I guess the hue and cry would be that he “lied and/or decieved” to make people think he’s not a Muslim, and he got votes frauduently that way, but that’s laughable on so many levels. The people accusing him of praying to Allah never voted for him in the first place, so it’s not like he lied to get their vote. Plus, politicians lie. This is Political Science 101, people! Bill Clinton lied about his extramarital affairs, and people still voted for him, and he’s held in higher esteem than Obama by many of Obama’s detractors.)

Why are people trying to say “Obama is a Muslim” as if their suddenly being proven true would make things different? This makes them worse than the birthers! (At least, if they were all of a sudden right, then Obama can’t be President … )
