I am posting from a woman’s point of view. In my experience, men either don’t read what I have posted, or don’t GAF, they just want what they want and don’t take the other person in consideration as if they are a person with the right to have preference.

Well, there could be plenty of men who respected your preferences and didn’t contact you, and you’d never know about it.

I always imagine these profiles are written out of frustration after bad prior experiences. Trying to find the right person in the swamp that is online dating is extremely fraught, especially for women, and when things go south you try to make sure that doesn’t happen again. Poorly written, sure. But it doesn’t sound arrogant to me, just hurt.

You every see the clip from Les Miserables where the guy climbs up on the barricade and waves a giant red flag? That’s what it sounds like to me. Having been in the online dating world I understand the frustrations but if you’re damaged enough by the experience to only be negative in your profile I would stay far away.

He saw I looked at his profile and proceeded to ask why I hadn’t messaged him. In the ensuing conversation he questioned my religion etc. I told him to buzz off. For the next several months, every so often he would message me. I asked him if he had the memory of a goldfish? Eventually I had to block him. It was tedious and annoying. And polite just wasn’t getting it with this dude. Being blunt and even rude didn’t work.

God, this is giving me flashbacks.

I agree. I always tried to keep my profile about positive things both in myself and the man I was hoping to meet. Until the shitshow of 2020. Then I put as a deal breaker any Trump voters / supporters. I actually got some good responses to that. And a few butthurt maga-turds.
