The actors are all physically attractive human beings, but their characters’ personalities were all so horrid that I couldn’t force myself to be attracted to them if I tried.
Aniston was pretty cute in “Office Space,” though.
This kinda of changed over the series - consider an scene from an early episode, where Monica was dressed and coiffured quite elegantly, and was waiting at a bar in a posh club (IIRC talking to Joey before her date showed up) - Courtney looked absolutely smashing in this scene (which they used in the opening credit montage for awhile).
Then, for maximum contrast effect, compare with the episode years later, toward the end, when Monica was playing an all night ping-pong game - Courtney has already adapted her Skeletor look, and on top of that he make-up artists gave her messed up greasy hair and a bed-raggled look (I think Chandler backed away in horror at the sight of her, not endearing him to his hyper-competative, pissed-off wife).
OK, total opposite ends of the spectrum I know, but at least gives an idea of the magnitude of the negative slope of the Monica attractiveness line as series-time progressed.
