I do have quite a few of todays more popular songs, as well as some more obscure songs from albums that alot of people either didn’t like much or don’t remember.
But I am amazed that by far, the most commonly downloaded song is Peter Frampton’s “Feel Like I Do”. It’s a great song, and I do have a pretty good connection, but a search reveals that at any time during the day, hundreds of people have this song available to be downloaded.
I’m also amazed at how many people with 56k modems try to download an entire album.
Oddly, the next most commonly downloaded song from my list is Tool “Hooker With a Penis”.
It seems that everytime I go on Napster someone starts downloading my New Model Army collection. Most of their stuff is not available in the U.S. which probably accounts for why so many people want to download it.
The most downloaded stuff from my computer used to be the Celtic and Irish stuff that Zenster sent to me. So I transferred all of that stuff over to a ZIP disk, out of reach of Napster.
The most downloaded songs in my library were anything from Roger Water’s “The Wall-- Live in Berlin” set.
I gave up on Napster and switched to WinMx. It is a Windows based file sharing program in the Napster format. It searches several servers and you can pick up a dropped download.
