Which song should I download off Napster?

It says there are millions available to me, but buggered if I can think of one to download.

Which should it be?

The Devil Went Down to Georgia

Or see if you can find the Joannie Loves Chachi theme song fpor me as I am currently Napsterless…

Well, don’t make it any Metallica. I heard that because of the recent lawsuit, if you are caught donwloading any Metallica song (I don’t know how well they moniter, though) they will ban your username.

Of course, just make a new one, but you know, you’re way too honest to do that, right?

Grab Hemoglobin by Beborn Beton. And you can’t go wrong with the Devil went down to Georgia.

“In the Year 2525” by Zager and Evans

Every damned movie and T.V. theme song you can find. That’s what I did. Beloe is a link to a thread with other dopers Napster names. Peep their libraries. That’s what I did. Get married and have 2 kids. That’s what I did.

Type in “cover” for title. You can come up with some of the most interesting things that way. (I learned that trick from someone on these boards.)

In addition to typing “cover” for title, you can also type in the type of music you like. Many people organize their stuff by folders. So, if for instance you like Jazz, typing “jazz” will list the contents of users’ “\Jazz” folders, and you can get some ideas that way.

When you find users that have similar interests in music, you add them to your hotlist and pick through their folders. Half the songs I have came from doing this, and saying “Oh, yeah, I forgot about that song!”

I use Napster primarily to find rare singles and B-Sides which I can’t find or buy anyways.

Try seeing if your favorite artist has some sort of really rare song or duet out there (Like Rage Against the Machine backing Stevie Nicks singing “Township Rebellion”)

WOW…I’d never thought that i’d find another Beborn Beton Fan, well i am obliged to shake your hand, for you are a fellow synth-poper, ahoy matey…argh! Anyways…another neat-o-rific song you should download is…Coil-Hellraiser theme…creapy as fudge song!

I just downloaded the Sex Pistols cover of the Monkees’ I’m Not Your Stepping Stone. I LOVE NAPSTER! I would never get to hear or even know to go looking for things like that. It’s beautiful!

Sorry, I always get on a high when I make a new “discovery”.

I have a bunch of songs from TV shows. Not the themes, but songs sang in the show. Like Simpsons songs, Animaniacs songs, Ren adn Stimpy soings, etc…

Money good!
Napster bad!

Get “Existential Blues” by Mr. Bungle.

for kicks, use my favorite band “Guster” as the artist and “cover” as the title. You will soon see why they are SUCH a fun band live.

No Sex in the Champagne Room
By Chris Rock

L’il Darlin’ by Benny Goodman

In contrast to some former posters, I say download EVERY thing you can find by Metallica, just to fuck with those greedy bastards!

This happens to me all the time. I walk into my local music store and my mind is gone. Pretty soon I’m browsing through ALL the racks looking like a lost dog. I usually end up buying two totally obscure cds and then remembering the ones I ACTUALLY wanted half way home.

Whenever I cant think of songs to download I like to visit
http://www.listen.com - You can just type an artist in and it says “people who like XXXXX usually like YYYYY” It helps me Im brain dead. It usually leads to a chain reaction and I go “OH Yeah, that’s who I was looking for!”

Then I go to amazon and get the title listing from albums to enter into napster!

There are at least 30 Metallica songs in my brother’s library. There will be more.

Type “live” in for the title to get live versions of songs.

download some songs by Fugazi.
